I'm sure this will end well.

What could possibly go wrong?

P.S. Imagine, if you will, the "Freedom Convoy" -- a disorganized gang of angry, misogynistic, white nationalists rampaging around downtown Ottawa harassing medical professionals and pretty much anyone wearing a mask ... now imagine every single one of them packing a handgun. Then imagine a bunch of armed and pissed off Ottawans who finally had enough of their shit.

That could all get very interesting.

A lot of people have pointed out the obvious problem with everyone having a gun. If some bad guy with a gun opens fire in a playground, then everyone there pulls out a gun to stop the gunman, and you have a mass firefight with numerous shooters. And when the police show up, all they see is a bunch of people shooting in a playground and there's no way they can tell the good guys from the bad guys and they shoot everyone, including the good guys. That's how all this is going to end.

Texas goes permitless on guns, and police prepare themselves to face armed ni...clang! Not hard to predict who's going to end up in the morgue.

(From the article) Mr. Earl tried to shoot the guy that robbed him at an ATM, but instead shot and killed a 9 year old girl in a passing truck. No charges.

No word if he got his money back.

It's interesting . . . apparently there's a, not exactly loophole . . . so it's still illegal to carry a gun while committing another crime. So if the cops want to get you for something, they can get you for two things. "Jaywalking" becomes "Jaywalking and carrying a gun".

@Purple library guy:

Any bets that there will be a lot of "carrying a firearm while [black/hispanic/gay/...] becomes a thing?

An armed society is a polite society! I've been to Texas, the only shooting I heard was at the gun range across from the Millie Bush Bark Park.

@MgS I wouldn't bet against that.

@Coolxenu Gee, I've lived in Vancouver for DECADES and can say the same. If it was so bad you'd on average expect to run across a shooting just during a visit, we'd be talking about real collapse.
