Sheila Gunn Reid: The grift goes ever on.

In a completely unshocking development, a couple of abysmally brain-dead religious dingbats were convinced by Rebel News' Sheila Gunn Reid to oppose COVID-related general health regulations, with the promise of free (tax-deductible) legal representation once they got their ovaries handed to them, and now that they're on the hook for tens of thousands in self-inflicted fines, Sheila is predictably begging equally brain-dead Rebel readers to hand over a truckload more money to Rebel staffers and associated lawyers to fight an invariably doomed appeal, which earlier brain-dead dimwits will also lose and will be stuck with not just fines but significant costs, as I have written about on too many occasions to even give a shit about anymore:

If only someone had warned those morons about this, oh, wait ...

P.S. I remember the days when the grift factory that is Rebel News was leaping to the defense of Trinity Bible Chapel in St. Jacobs, Ontario, and promising them staunch support for law-breaking. How did that end up? Oh ...

I tried to warn them. Is anyone even keeping track of how many millions have rolled in and gone straight into the pockets of a small groups of Rebel News staffers and associated lawyers, while all of those "Fight the Fines" clients, after losing their cases, are stuck with the fines and associated costs, many of them having to close down as a result, while Ezra and his gang of happy fundraisers move on to the next gullible mark?

I'm just asking.

You know, if it results in some wingnut churches closing their doors, in a bizarre way you could say Rebel is providing a public service here ...

They could fund-raise for people to help get them out of [self-inflicted but "Rebel" inspired] financial trouble. But they knew from the start that their chumps would end up in financial trouble.

You're right. They're using it as nothing more than a money-making machine. Further useless "legal representation" and then they leave their marks out to dry.

Callous and cynical.

thwap: It would be one thing (and even laudable) if Der Rebel fundraised to provide free legal assistance for people who got into legal hot water through no fault of their own. But remember ... Ezra and the opportunistic hacks at the Rebel actually ***encouraged*** those people to violate health ordinances with the promise of free legal representation, and are now walking away from the financial wreckage they caused while trousering a truckload of cash that will never, ever be shared with the people whose lives and businesses they destroyed.

After watching Lauren Southern’s video essay being fired for questioning the fund raising for the trip to Israel and SGR’s recent fund raising trip to hand deliver signed petition to the human rights commission I am starting to question everything Rebel News. I get it their not funded like the CBC or corporate media but surely that are other revenue streams available than always asking viewers to contribute.
