Wait! I take it back!

Funnier and funnier.

DEEP AFTERTHOUGHTS: What would be hysterically entertaining is if the congressman really was faithful to his wife, and all that sexual conquest bluster was pure fiction designed solely to impress his colleagues with what kind of totally horndog stud he was with the chicks.

Apparently, that's his defense. Good luck with that.

Yeah, talking about stuff 'running down her leg' is a regular conversation I have with my peers...

Storytelling... Yeah, that's the ticket.

Which magazine had a letters section which more often than not published letters with an opening sentence that went something like, "I never thought this would happen to me, and I never believe the stories I read in your magazine. But just the other day..."?

I dimly remember something like that.

Why's everybody so upset? They sound perfect for each other.

There are two distinct points here.

The first is, at best we know, he is a typical blowhard, claiming (sexual) conquests where they may or may not exist. Who cares? Really, who cares who fucks whom? Or worse, claims to have done so? I can't see that as an issue, nor would I raise it as one. The hypocrisy claim is a non-issue, and not something , at best, worth highlighting.

Second, though, is the claimed sexual favours of a lobbyist to this same idiot's (aka Republican's) committee. Now, that is a serious issue. If you are claiming to fuck a lobbyist to your committee, as was the case here (to our best knowledge), then you really are violating any and all ethical considerations (except the null set associated with the latter-day Republicans). Note, I said, ``claimed''. Having done so, except for the possibility of civil action, the best defence is you are just an asshole who makes shit up about allegedly attractive lobbyists to impress your friends.

Um, no, John, the hypocrisy really is a major issue since Duvall is your typical, holier-than-thou, right-wing mouthpiece who yammers on and on about family and values and the sanctity of marriage and so on and, as you can read, has been revered as a role model for exactly that -- all the while apparently screwing around on his wife with not one but two mistresses and, when he gets nailed for it (pun totally intended), doesn't even have the nads to fess up like a man.

So thanks for playing, John, but howzabout you take your advice and piss off? We'll be the judge of when hypocrisy matters. Does that work for you?
