HAHAHAHAHAHA!!

Fucking atheists. I'm wondering how the right-wing, "free speech" warriors are going to handle this.

I made a post about it in my LJ and in the dark_christian group and a couple of people had the balls to give me shit because I pointed out that she's a divorcee, yet she claims that Sherman's dangerous because of his philosophy. Her philosophy doesn't even match the book she supposedly holds to be the spiritual center of her life.

Wasn't it Hey Zeus that said those without sin should cast the first stone? By the Bible divorce is only ok in cases of adultery or ( if you read the old testament ) when the woman is ugly. Ugliness aside, she's got no room to talk about how other people's philosophies are dangerous when her doesn't even square with her own religion.

and that doesn't even address the fact that this is a public figure telling an American citizen he has no right to speak. She should be out on her ass.

I'm not gonna rush to condemn this. I think we should wait a bit, surely "Christian moderates" will make bold statements about how that is not the true face of Christianity and put this woman in her place -- even if she is a Democrat.

So if I was elected to office and told some lady to sit down and shut up because her faith in Jesus was misplaced and was destroying America, should I count on you not to rush to condemn that either?

What she said was wrong. What's not to condemn?

This is the Land of Lincoln where people believe in God

That sound you hear is Abraham Lincoln spinning in his grave.

Sounds like it might be good time to be an -armed- atheist, eh? Nothing supports your right to deny the existence of God better than a Winchester 12 gauge pump when The Church Lady runs the government. Except maybe an FN FAL, .308 of course. None of this .223 crap, that's for girls.

Well, you did ask.

Think so?

Why do you think Jesus had 12 apostles? He comes from a long line of experts in the sling, going all the back to David. And he trained the apostles. You can drop 4 of 'em, do you think you'll live long enough to reload your Winchester?

Guys that run out of ammo have really really really messy deaths. Or try your .308 against a multitude? Drop 20, get dismembered by the other 4000 of them.

See they don't give a shit if a bunch of theirs die, since they think they'll go to heaven. As long as at least one of them gets his hands on you.

So what's your plan, lie down and die? Very Liberal.

Maybe if you want to be an atheist in Canada you should consider the effect Stephen Harper could have on your rights by appointing that Church Lady to run the CHRC. He could do that, y'know. Cuts both ways if it cuts at all, know what I mean?

If he does I think you'll be reconsidering the Winchester option, but of course it will be too late. Liberal Party already took care of that choice for us.

Thanks Mr. Chretien!

I don't have a problem with that. When the mob comes it's best to be prepared. I don't weigh the same as a duck.

No, I don't know you at all nor will I ever really know you through this imperfect medium we're all congregating inside. So I can only go by what you said and what you said was: "I'm not gonna rush to condemn this."

You're entitled to whatever opinion you hold and it's possible I'm misunderstanding whatever point you're trying to make here. But I fail to understand why a negative response shouldn't come swiftly and surely from anyone who believes in the concept of freedom of expression.

This woman has no right to tell anyone that they are not allowed to speak. She is a a public servant elected to office and sworn to uphold the Constitution of Illinois ( which explicitly states the exact opposite of her attitudes I might add). Effectively she's a glorified crossing guard with an over inflated opinion of herself. Nobody appointed her Messiah of Expression.

However indignant she gets, she still has no right to deny anyone anything let alone tell one of her fellow American citizens that guaranteed right to speak their mind and redress their grievances with their government has been forfeit because she doesn't like what philosophy he follows.

Follow the link to the bunker e in md, you'll find I was being sarcastic.... as the "Christian moderates" line was supposed to indicate.

The only mob that's ever going to come are those supported/co-opted by the American State, if not the State itself, as we've seen many times in recent American history.

Your blunderbusses are not going to save you when the time comes. They never do.

I've had similar fears from time to time, but at least in Canada, we know any armed mob is made up of criminals.
