This is what twisting yourself into knots looks like.

Oh, my:

Meta-hypocrisy is accusing someone forced into a hypocritical decision -- arriving at this point not by their own intent, but by the bounds of the imperfect system in which they find themselves and of which you've let fester -- of something you ...would do unabashedly and without remorse. example - see Liberal talking points regarding the PM's latest senate appointments.

Shorter Stephen Taylor: "It's not Harper's fault! It's never Harper's fault! You all suck, you big meanies!"

Followed by the sound of angry footsteps on stairs, the slamming of the bedroom door and, "No, I'm not coming down for dinner! I hate you!"

OMG. Why didn't he just say "Stop me before I kill again!" and have done with it?

Oh for pity's sake. I mean, yes, when things change it's not a bad thing to rethink your positions, but what facts regarding the Senate have changed since Harper made his promises regarding it? NONE. Nobody forced him into a hypocritical decision; he made it all by his lonesome.

Taylor's outdone himself with that bit of sophisty.

Apparatchik.

The word you are looking for is Apparatchik.

Taylor is a textbook example what with his employment at the "Manning Centre for Democracy" and all that...
