As God is my witness ...

... I have no idea where to go with this.

Mind boggling, isn't it?

Although whoever 'intelligently designed' those t-shirts was being just a tad provocative. In a baaaad good way.

there is no where to go with that. america is
awash in malignant stupidity, the best and the brightest are demonized and harassed. few dare question the brutish rule of the idiot class because of their propensity for violence. there's not enough bread or circus acts to appease or distract them. america will die clutching their beloved weapons to their breasts whilst trying to speed dial a network to vote some poor dork off an island.

It's because America is going through a process of devolution. Eventually, the domestic cat will be smarter than the Republican nominee for president.

When you're the most powerful and economic entity in the world, you don't have to be smart. Over the last half century Americans have lost the habit of critical thought because they don't need it, just as the heir with billions doesn't actually have to know anything at all about business. Of course, Americans (like the heir) attribute their wealth and power to their own excellence, intelligence and moral worth, not to an accident of birth or history.

Lindsay, you've just stated in 76 words exactly what I've been thinking. All one has to do is read some Dodo, Hunter or that stupid half wit "Colin" to realize that Canada isn't far behind.

"Canada isn't far behind."

modesty doesn't suit you.

No, it's true. Our Right will get as dumb as their Right - just ten years later. By then, of course, their Right will no longer be bipeds.

I suggest reading this as a follow up.

I've been mentoring wingnuts in my spare time. It's not going well.

I live just outside of Kansas City and continue to be flabbergasted at the stupidity of some of the things that go on around here. The T-shirt issue is a perfect example The amount of people who live around me that take the "Creationist" ideas seriously is awful. We moved to Kansas from Eastern Canada 4 years ago and sometimes I feel like I am in a parallel universe of the idiots.
