Hunter is just another example of your garden variety frustrated, impotent morron whom always seem to be among the most vocal (if not abusive) control freaks there is - especially with regards to women.
His sexually dismissive, condescending tone towards Lulu not only as a human being, but especially as a woman, constitutes proof enough.
I dunno. I guess I've come to see Hunter's point, ce soir.
If she has her gitch in a twist over her tax dollars funding an abortion because some woman is too stupid to take her pill, then why should *Sheena* have to pay for all of those bloody births out there because of women too stupid to take their pills.
If Hunter's argument is economic, I can totally get that.
If Hunter's argument is economic, I can totally get that.
*ugh*
I seriously doubt you "get" the economic argument. But just in case, please list all the medical treatments you and your extended family have undergone in Canada. Go back two generations at least.
If Hunter's argument is economic, I can totally get that.
Hunter's argument isn't economic, as evidenced by her "keep your legs closed" remark. The "my tax dollars" argument is only window dressing designed to conceal the real issue: slutty women having sex.
This is what "conservatives" have come to. A bunch of twisted freaks obsessing about other peoples' sex lives.
"The 'my tax dollars' argument is only window dressing"
wingnuts do love their red herrings, don't they? maybe sheena missed this passage, straight from cc's link:
"Well excuse me for getting emotional about baby killing. It just makes me sick to my stomach when I see people trying to justify killing a living human being with useless statements like 'it a woman's body', 'it's a woman's choice'."
see, sheena? the "my tax dollars" line was smoke up the ass. all you have to do is read. and be honest.
It is possible for an argument to have more than one prong, you know. It could be moralistic and economic. I have little doubt the former is the primary motivator, but that certainly doesn't negate the legitimacy of the latter. In our healthcare system decisions are made all the time about what medical procedures "we" as taxpayers are willing to fund (although in reality most people have no say in the matter).
Kind of funny (and probably quite unintentional) that the gory graphic she deployed symbolically combines both of these these themes — being a picture of a dismembered fetus resting on a dime.
As a self professed conservative (we'll call it an original, not a Creationist moonbat Reformer)... Is it wrong for me to like leather? Mini skirts? Brass poles?
I'm not a Catholic any more, because I could not afford to give away the next three years of my life in the Confessional.
More seriously. Not all cons are pro-lifers... Something about pro-lifers engaging in terror tactics from time to time just freaks me out...
Oh, that and frankly, the right to choise is the correct choice. The only rider I would look at is counselling before and after (for all I know, this could already exist, but as I am not a woman who has ever faced this thing head on, I do not know).

Hunter goes for the gold:
Try keeping your legs closed until you are in a stable relationship. Lulu, honey, are you one of the swingers who have no moral values?
This is what "conservatives" think about, day in and day out. Splayed legs, gang-bangs, fucking, fucking, fucking...
what is it with these cons, if it isn't the airport toilet it's the damn barnyard. hunter, sweetie-pie, muffin-top you righties are a, um, troubled.

Bad call, Mentarch ... "Hunter" is a female. At least according to her profile. Which makes her raging misogyny so much more embarrassing.
It was called "meow" where I grew up.
Oh, Hunter's very much a female; one of these awful gender traitors the women in my family loved slapping into next Tuesday.
CC: really? Hunter is female?!?
Holy crap indeed ...
(and I stand shockingly corrected ...)
WTF is a 'gender traitor'?
A chick who can think for herself?
are you one of the swingers who have no moral values?
Ummmm... I think that would be Vic Toews.
WTF is a 'gender traitor'?
A chick who can think for herself?
Yes, Sheena, that's what it means. A chick who can think for herself.
Idiot.
Cripes. Git over yerself, little-guy.
Seriously. What is a 'gender-traitor' and since when are women obliged to follow groupthink?
OMG! Chatelaine said that knee highs were the rage this year and that bitch is wearing a mini skirt.
Bitch! Whore! Gender traitor!!!!1!!!
Don't you have some fabulous place to travel to and some food to photograph, or something?
Uh...yes...
But I don't want alienate the other members of my gender.
But I don't want alienate the other members of my gender.
I doubt most women care.
So now you're ragging on me for not blogging about topics readers don't want to read about?
So now you're ragging on me for not blogging about topics readers don't want to read about?
Not at all. I'm ragging on you because it's fun.
And I respond back precisely for the same reason.
Check.
And before you ask... No, Ti-Guy. I will NOT marry you.
Lesbian!
No, Ti-Guy. I will NOT marry you.
Whew. Good to know. I came this close to asking if you two needed a room. ;-)
I came this close to asking if you two needed a room.
Heh. I was just going to ask if anyone else thought we should just leave the two of them alone ;-)
She identifies with Elmer Fudd. End of story.
Because I ate the wabbit?

"It's wabbit season"
"No, It's duck season"
"Wabbit season!"
"Duck season!"
"Wabbit season!"
"Duck season!"
We all should know it always winds up being Fudd season in the end.
Not you, Sheena. Hunter identifies with Fudd. It's her profile pic.
Oh. I see. Well, I usually don't bother reading chick bloggers. Does she use slow roasted mustard sauce? or the more modern boiled method?
Roasted or boiled? I'm not sure. I always thought Fudds tasted better grilled. Hickory Pomegranate sauce if you must. With a bold Gamay.
Okay, are we done here?
Okay, are we done here?
I dunno; are there any more alt-bands you want bring up to remind the rest of us that we were and always be uncool.
...God, I'm bitter.
Harlequin?
Well, I usually don't bother reading chick bloggers. Does she use slow roasted mustard sauce? or the more modern boiled method?
Oh lovely. Pour on the stereotypes. If you yourself aren't like this, why do you assume the rest of us are?
Harlequin?
Exactly.

clearly, it's moralistic, but if you feel the need to play dumb, knock yourself out.

besides, sheena, why would you want women who are "too dumb" to be inescapably breeding? the company, i suppose....

That a 'pro-lifer' would engage in an act of terrorism, is the definitive sign that the term doesn't fit.
STOP accepting their terms. They are anti-choice.

this is very true, but if i find references to "the nanny state" on hunter's blog, then her specific complaint is a disingenuous one.
