IOKIYAC

Stephen the Large can't seem to get that accountability, responsibility and transparency thing sorted out. After making such a fuss about changing the way things get done in Ottawa, he set up new rules that included a disclosure rule for gifts exceeding $200 in value. You guessed it, in the words of the weasels,

"All items are either disclosed properly or are in the process of being disclosed," said the official, who asked not to be identified.

Sweet. In the process. I'm not breaking the rules, I'm just following them very slowly. So slowly in fact that it exceeds the very limitations I put in place.

Under the new conflict rules in the Conservatives' public accountability legislation of 2006, all gifts Harper and his cabinet ministers receive valued over $200 must be reported within 30 days.

A compliance manager for Ethics Commissioner Mary Dawson told The Canadian Press the office has not received notice of gifts received by Harper since his last report on Feb. 2. The last gift on that disclosure was a framed photo Harper received during a visit to Churchill, Man., in October 2007.

Yet again, the rules are for other folks to follow. You'd think that message would be clear by now.

Betcha that approach doesn't work with Revenue Canada - but then, it might if one is a PredaTory. They have managed to subvert a lot of procedures and process in a little over two years.

Well, sure. Just accuse Revenue Canada of having a 'well known Liberal bias'.

Rationalization is a wonderful thing.

It's like his "accomplishments"... they're "in process" and therefore as good as done. Come on, get with the program there, CC. Haven't you learned anything form the Cruxmeister after all this time?

Someone like Nancy White should write a bouncy little ballad that enumerates all the ReformaTory sleight-of-mind, peccadilloes and faux-pas that have passed during their reign as The New™ Government, for which the chorus would be .... c'mon folks, join in ... 'well known Liberal bias'
