You keep using that word "progressive" ...
Via Dr. Dawg, we find Progressive Blogger Diva Rachel who's gotten all moist over one Sheriff Joe Arpaio. Yeah, that would be this Sheriff Joe Arpaio.
I think someone needs to be shown the door. Kids? Your reputation is on the line. I'd make this fast and painless if I were you.

Canadian Cynic,
While the post is indeed controversial, and we respect your opinion, we reserve the right to debate the issue with the blogger and with each other before we come to a decision.
Do you want the whole My Blahg debacle to be repeated? If not then let us do our jobs without goading us into doing something rash.

And just as respectfully, Pal, you're well beyond the point of discussion here. When I wrote my post, Dr. Dawg had already responded to Diva Rachel, linking to my exposure of Sheriff Arpaio as a bully and fascist thug and someone who beat a mentally-handicapped man to death, and that would have been the time for DR to have come to her senses and written something like, "Holy crap, I had no idea, I take it all back!" She didn't, which suggests she doesn't have a real problem with Arpaio's thuggery. And that's a bad sign.
DR had her chance (two of them, in fact) to realize what kind of brutality she was fawning over, and she let it go. And if that doesn't set off all sorts of warning bells for you, Pal, then you have a serious problem.
Debate's on, CC. We'll let you know.
While it's all well and good not to do anything "rash", Paladiea ... I find it a bit precious that you think this is an issue that requires debate.
DR wrote what was essentially a fangirl post about a brutal thug with a badge - something I would expect to find on the Blogging Tories not ProgBlogs.
Normally, I'd be willing to cut someone some slack and assume they were just clueless, but DR doesn't have this defense. From her original post, look at this item of which she seemed so enamored:
- Arpaio believes that inmates should be treated as harshly as legally possible to emphasize the punishment aspect of their incarceration.
And that's something to idolize? The idea of abusing people as long as we stay just this side of breaking the law? How utterly ... non-progressive.
"Do you want the whole My Blahg debacle to be repeated?"
i wasn't around for that. little help, anyone?

Yes, amazing as it may sound, not everyone shares the same viewpoint.
Regardless of what one may feel about the issue at hand (and I am not going to make my thoughts known on this forum) there are a lot of things to consider rather than just the post in itself, and those points need to be discussed.
"not everyone shares the same viewpoint."
those that do, align.

No, everyone doesn't share the same viewpoint - like this one that DR seems to have no problem pushing. How terribly progressive of her ... no, really.
