What could possibly go wrong?

Oh, the potential for unbridled hilarity:

Tories appoint Reform founder Manning to science advisory panel

What? Denyse O'Leary wasn't available?

Hmmmmmm, isn't this interesting. If you go to Presto's web site, there's a link to a page called "The Genetic Revolution - Where Does Faith Fit in?".

Except - oopsie - when you click on it, you get a message saying "This website has recently been moved. Unfortunately some of the content is no longer available, please try again later."

Makes you wonder what might've been on that page once upon a time, doesn't it?

A bit like having our general hospitals run by Christian Scientists. No doubt it would save on pharmacy costs, though. Next: Jehovah's Witness assumes role as CEO of Canada Blood Services.

Ontarians will remember that Mike Harris did away with the senior scientific/medical advisor for the province.

I think the pretext was economy.

Then we had the SARS crisis.

Tony Clement couldn't handle it.

The dismissal of science seems to be a leitmotif of conservative thought/politics. And we're the poorer for it

Science is biased against "conservatives."
