When really stupid bloggers attack: The Patsy Ross story.
Let's keep this short and sweet. First, there's this. Take your time and read it carefully, so you truly understand the parameters of the challenge. Got it? Good.
Now, God help you, read this. Again, read it slowly and carefully to truly appreciate the stupidity. But, wait, that's not fair, so let's ponder how to deal with this.
Obviously, it would be grossly unfair if I were to judge whether Patsy had won the challenge, so we can't let that happen. But who? And, for me, the answer is obvious.
I just sent off an e-mail to James Bow, with whom I've had some correspondence on occasion, and who recently was the runner-up as Mr. Non-Partisan in the 2007 Canadian Blog Awards. And since James has a reputation as being scrupulously fair and even-handed, I'm hoping he'll offer to act as judge in this little spat.
If he does, then the protocol is simple. He'll read the challenge carefully, then he'll examine Patsy's submission. And if he thinks Patsy has satisfied the requirements of the challenge, I'll pay up. If he doesn't, then Patsy can go suck eggs.
Fair? Now we're just waiting on James. I'll keep you posted.
