Nothing personal, but fuck you.

I was going to post a recently-received link here but, given what's been going down the last couple of days, I thought PZ might need it more, so I sent it to him, and he ran with it.

These people do not care about us. They do not care about civility. They do not care about actual patriotism for their respective country. They do not care about children or fetuses or religion or free speech or any of the other things they screech and yammer on about.

They care about one thing and one thing only: Power.

The power to come into YOUR house and demand that you do what THEY say for no other reason than that they said it. The power to decide who lives or dies. Who eats and who starves. Who suffers sickness and who is healed. Who gets to breed a new generation and who doesn't.

They can't be reasoned with. They can't be ignored to see if they'll go away. They can't be bartered with favors or money. They may well be delusional by the standards of civilized society but they are not crazy or misguided and their actions are not random or uncoordinated. Everything they do has been calculated and planned out for over 30 years now all you have to do is research the Project for a New American Century to see it in all it's technocolor glory.

Make no mistake. These people want to destroy you and everything you hold dear. They will legislate, lie, steal, and defame to get what they want. Some will even maim, and kill. They are the real life incarnation of every ridiculous comic book or Bond villain and his minions that you always laughed about and thought "Oh that could never really happen" and the worst part is they all make those comic book villains look competent. This is all part of the plot, so that you underestimate them and their designs. But it's not that they're incompetant it's that their incompetance is part of the plan. How else do you explain comments like Grover Norquist saying "I don't want to abolish government. I simply want to reduce it to the size where I can drag it into the bathroom and drown it in the bathtub"

These people want to remake not just Canada, not just the US but the entire world into the hideous neo-con playground they wet their sheets at night over. Where you can be jailed for ideas that they don't like or actions they don't sanction. Where you can go to war and plunder a country full of brown people without any regret solely for the purpose of making corporations and politicians filthy disgustingly rich. Where they can and will jail their detractors and enemies with inpunity on trumped up charges with no right to appeal or file writs of habeas corpus. Where they can betray national security in order to advance their agenda and yet never suffer a night's penalty for it. Yet despite all this they want to set things up so that they cannot legally be held accountable for any of it. Whether through corrupt 4th class bureaucrats like Monica Goodling or right at the top like with Alberto Gonzales or Bush himself.

Just ask Don Siegelman how much fun the neo-cons are. Or Jose' Padilla. Or Valerie Plame.

These people are not our friends. They are not misguided college roommates peeing into the hamper. They are not the yappy dog up the street that shits on your lawn. They are not the opposing podium in a debate in high school. They are our enemies and the enemies of enlightenment and freedom and you don't defeat an enemy by being polite. The sooner the leftists and centrists realize this the better off we will all be.; 4:04 PM
