First, we have the requisite, horrified shrieking from Canada's Shriekiest Blogger:
A Reminder
That one person's terrorist is Michael Moore's freedom fighter.
Which took us to the disturbing story here:
Al Qaeda use two Down's syndrome women to blow up 99 people in Baghdad markets
Al Qaeda fanatics plumbed to sickening new depths yesterday when they turned two women with Down's syndrome into human bombs to kill 99 people in Baghdad.
The unwitting pawns were apparently fooled into wearing explosive vests which were then detonated remotely by mobile phones as the women mingled with crowds.
Sadly for Kate, though, given time, the truth will out, as it always does:
US Military: Bombers Underwent Psychiatric Treatment, No Indication They Had Down Syndrome
Feb 20, 2008 15:15 EST
The U.S. military said Wednesday that two women used as suicide bombers in attacks earlier this month had undergone psychiatric treatment but there is no indication they had Down syndrome as Iraqi and U.S. officials initially had claimed.
Rear Adm. Gregory Smith, a military spokesman, said the women used in the Feb. 1 pet market bombings had been identified as residents from the northeastern outskirts of Baghdad who were in their late 20s or early 30s...
On Wednesday, Smith backed away from the claim about Down syndrome while responding to a question concerning the psychiatric histories of the two bombers.
"Both had recently received psychiatric treatment for depression and/or schizophrenia. From what we know now there's no indication that they had Down syndrome," Smith said, citing records obtained by the military.
I'm kinda betting you won't be seeing a correction about this over at Kate's place. Kate doesn't do corrections. It's a time management thing, I hear.
AFTERSNARK: Do we really want to check on how many of Canada's vaunted Blogging Tories bit on this one? I could do a general search but, really, let's save ourselves some time and check in on the one person that we know would be simply creaming himself over the chance to lord it over those unprincipled, amoral ragheads. I speak, of course, of Neo:
LAST WORD: Hey, Bin-Layton... negotiate this
Al Qaeda fanatics plumbed sickening new depths yesterday when they turned two women with Down's syndrome into human bombs to kill 70 people in Baghdad.
The unwitting pawns were apparently fooled into wearing explosive vests which were then detonated remotely by mobile phones as the women mingled with crowds.
Heh ... Neo dismissively quoting the phrase "unwitting pawns." You have to love that irony.

I saw this debunked a while ago. All the wingnuts were screeching about, probably still are and will be for years to come.
What's even the point of talking to them anymore?
I never understood what was the relevance of the women having Downs in the first place. Is detonating human worn bombs in a crowded place somehow worse because the women supposedly had Downs?
Or does Catherine consider anyone with Downs to be a security risk, and we should eliminate them here so we don't have to worry about them being used to attack us? It would make sense to her. After all, Downs people are already useless eaters, right?
That one person's terrorist is Michael Moore's freedom fighter.
Would anyone care to parse this for me? I have no idea at all what this is supposed to mean.
