I am so tired of Stephen Harper starting his excuses with "Canadians want" as if what follows has any basis in fact.

It's standard OPs for cons these days--they say "Canadians do 'X'" which, in their little addleminded heads, really means, "Real Canadians do (believe, say, etc) 'X'."
And if you dont do, say or believe 'X', well then you're just not a real Canadian.
It must be nice living in their little make believe world and making it up as they go...
