And at BT HQ, the fax machines begin to hum again.

Apparently, the cool new wanker game these days is to whip up a blog post that combines the words "Obama" with some variation on the word "thug." And the great thing about this game is that even really, really stupid Blogging Tories can play. Here's JR, setting the stage:

Obama enemies lists and thuggery

Obama will brook no opposition to his medicare legislation. Informants are encouraged to identify critics and snitch directly to the Whitehouse:

"Identify critics?" Wow, JR, that really does sound fascist and thuggy. And then we read the details that JR so conveniently provides:

... On Monday, White House director of new media Macon Phillips posted a note on the White House web site complaining of "disinformation about health insurance reform." "These rumors often travel just below the surface via chain emails or through casual conversation," Phillips wrote. "Since we can't keep track of all of them here at the White House, we're asking for your help. If you get an email or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to flag@whitehouse.gov."

Huh. How odd. That doesn't seem to say what JR claims it says. What it says is to watch for and keep track of "disinformation", "rumors" or "something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy." Which, when you think about it, seems perfectly appropriate. If you're trying to pitch a novel health care reform plan to the general public, it only makes sense to carefully track the news and identify utter nonsense and dishonesty. Kind of the job of competent public relations folks, wouldn't you say?

Sadly, being as hideously stupid as he is, JR fails to understand that critical distinction, and proceeds to fuck things up even further by quoting armchair warrior Hugh Hewitt, who similarly misrepresents reality:

... Appealing as the president did via the White House web for snitches to turn in "fishy" citizens smacks of the lowest sort of thuggish politics.

Like JR, Hewitt is either too stupid or too dishonest to appreciate that what is being asked for is fishy online information, not fishy "citizens," but such distinctions are frequently lost on the intellectual cripples that make up Stephen Taylor's Blogging Tories.

And, look, here's Canada's most useless blogger, Kate McMillan, who clearly received the same fax:

Is There Nothing That Obama Can't Do?

A party in power grows increasingly thuggish; ...

But the awesome entertainment over at KKKate's really kicks in in the comments section:

The Kenyan is one of the ones directly responsible for "creating the mess".

His "community organizing" was all about forcing banks, through his organized protests, to give sub-prime loans to people who would never repay them.
These sub-prime loans were what caused the housing bubble, then the housing bubble burst, which caused the recession.

Far from "cleaning up the mess", the Kenyan's policies are deepening the recession.

Isn't that adorable? Kate has her own little "birther" community over there at SDA -- loyal yapdogs who now refer to Barack Obama as the "Kenyan." Here's a game we can all play: let's start keeping track of the suddenly increasing usage of the word "thug" and the description of "Kenyan" over at Stephen Taylor's House of Dumbth. I'm betting both of those are going to get way more popular in a hurry.

Anyone want a piece of that action? I'll give you odds.

P.S. For unbridled entertainment, you really need to read that entire comments section at Kate's. Seriously. And these people walk among you.

BY THE WAY, the same BT wankers who are horrified by the fascistic, thuggish notion of staying on top of the media and tracking misinformation would like you to know that they're watching the bloggysphere, and the instant you say something even remotely inaccurate about them, they will be all over you like stink on cheese with threats and lawsuits and stuff like that there because you bet your ass that nobody, but nobody, gets away with telling fibs about them, 'cuz they will absolutely not put up with shit like that and they're watching you like a fucking hawk.

Oh, and when Obama tries to keep track of online dishonesty, he's being a fascist thug. I'm glad I could clear that up for you.

Oh, you and your silly "logic" and "facts"... When will you ever learn that neither of things matter a single whit to the raging puddinheads that fill the ranks of the Bloggin' Tories?

As of this comment, Google records 640,000 for "Obama + thuggish."

The complete hypocrisy of those fools is the reason why we shouldn't waste our time debating with them.

When we get power, we should just do what we want and let them scream.

And if they try to do more than scream? Come down on them like a ton of bricks.

The only thing you've cleared up is what an idiot you are.

Just once I'd like someone like bocanut to explain themselves, to expand on their thoughts, rather than just flail about like a shit flinging monkey on meth.

Only an idiot can't see the dangerous slippery slope of asking partisan citizens to report "fishy" things directly to the head of any government.
Only a useful idiot would equate a differing opinion as misinformation.
Only a useful idiot could approve of any government investigating "fishy" things it's citizens say.
It was useful idiots that believed it was right for kids to report to the Communist Party on their parents "fishy" actions in Stalinist Russia.

KEvron,
I really hope you're being sarcastic about sending someone to a truth tribunal because they don't agree with your opinion.
Only someone who is profoundly stupid could not see the irony.

After your referring to anyone who reports lies as a "useful idiot", and then adding a reference to "useful idiots" reporting people to the Communist Party? Trying to compare te reporting of lies being spread to reporting people with differing political views?

Only someone who is profoundly stupid could not see the irony.
Yes, that explains why you didn't get it, bonehead.

Hahahahahahahahahha!

Try and get help for that comprehension problem of yours.

.
You are the one who cannot distinguish between people and words. As you admitted, you are profoundly stupid.

Kind of like Sarah Palin, who when told of a story about her, did not simply deny or refute it, but demanded to know "who said that!"

You are the ones who track down and murder anyone who disagrees with you.
