I know I should let it go, but this is getting really creepy, as we take a minute to check back in on John Bowman of CBC's "Blog Watch." You remember, John, right? He's the clueless gomer who wrote:
Blogs aren't moderated or censored.
And, yes, that would be the same John who, on an article about bloggers and blogging that has been up for two full days, has graciously allowed the publication of all of four comments, two of them being from him. (That's pretty much the definition of "irony," isn't it?)
Initially, it was funny. It's not funny anymore. Seriously. Even the worst and most deranged of the Blogging Tories have never been this dictatorial.
If you work at the CBC and happen to bump into John, please tell him that he's a twatwaffle. And that he should stop writing about blogs. Or bloggers. Or blogging. Or anything else about which he knows squat.
We, the readers, deserve better.
BONUS TRACK: There's just so much jaw-droppingly stupid about Bowman's piece that I'm probably not done with it yet, but for pure hilarity, remember Bowman's claim that blogs aren't moderated or censored. And yet who are two of John's prime examples of Canadian bloggers? Thats right -- Kate McMillan and Kathy Shaidle: one who runs her comments section with an iron fist, and the other who doesn't even accept comments to begin with.
Truly, an inspiring bit of journalism. The CBC must be so proud.

I love how these dot.com wash-outs have ended up on the public teat to repeat what led to the dot.com failure to begin with...indifference to standards of good practice and over-exuberance to hide mediocrity.
You really should complain formally to the CBC. Or maybe we can get some of the anti-CBC Righties to complain, since this is what bias actually looks like.
