Jeffery Simpson in the The Globe yesterday referred obliquely to the "editors and columnists" who chatted up the lies about Iraq, without of course mentioning that some of the worst culprits write for the paper that employs him.
The most disheartening revelation in the last while is to discover how clubby and cliquey (and alternately very vindictive towards mavericks) media figures can be no, matter how significant the issue. And I don't think there's any way to escape that, considering the business model under which our news and current affairs media operates.
