And she thinks her problems are almost over.

Most people would start feeling optimistic at this point:

DNA test proves identity of stranded Toronto woman

DNA tests have confirmed a Toronto woman marooned in Kenya really is who she says she is.

Somali-born Suaad Hagi Mohamud has been stuck in Nairobi for more than two months after she was told her lips did not match her passport photo when she tried to travel home.

Mohamud says she is glad the "nightmare is finally over."

You poor, dear fool. Should we take bets on what total clusterfuck is going to happen now? Seriously, this is the Stephen Harper government we're talking about here. We just need to figure out how they're going to keep jerking her around. You know it's coming.

P.S. Wouldn't it be just awesome to find a single Blogging Tory who's blogged about this issue? 'Cuz I just don't see a lot of that happening. I'll leave you to draw your own conclusions.

DID I CALL IT OR WHAT? Via Dr. Dawg, I just this minute read this:

Asked last night if Ottawa accepts the DNA result as proof of identity and, if so, when the government will send her home, Canada Border Services Agency spokeswoman Tracie LeBlanc replied: "It would be inappropriate to comment ... as this matter is still before the courts."

Speaking through a spokesperson, Public Safety Minister Peter Van Loan also had "no comment."

That is just awesome. These vile racists are so predictable. Let me give Suaad Hagi Mohamud some free advice: You are brown; therefore, you are screwed. That is the Stephen Harper way.

P.S. Still waiting for those Blogging Tories to weigh in.

CC, for shame.

I'm sure Jonathon Narvey, defender of not-Canadian brown people extraordinaire, will be on the case.

Yep ... annnnnnny minute now.
