Another issue I am left (sometimes far left) is human sexuality.
Legalize prostitution, not decriminalize. The easiest way to combat human trafficking is to make it easier for the victims to come forward. Our society stigmatizes prostitutes to the point that many of the victims will not come forward to the police, because the pimps make credible threats.
(In the military, it is not uncommon for us to at least hear of human trafficking in mission areas. We do what we can when we hear of it, it is a frustrating mess to deal with it when you do)
Sex before marriage, homosexuality, etc etc.. Welcome to the 21st century. Sex ed is not bad, in fact it is a necessary part of growing up. Yes abstinence is the most effective form of birth control... But not nearly as fun as doing it.
On the issue of human sexuality, the right has a clear agenda of myopic, self indulgent rhetoric, that does alienate a huge segment of our society.
(oh, last point... If any of those sexuality = immorality types ever enjoyed head... According to their own morals and the Catholic Church, they have sinned!)

Looking at her bio it seems she did do a lot of outreach and community work... so yeah, she was probably always a closet lefty. Now seeing that, through her perfidious cunning, she's got tenure on the bench, she can come out as full blown commie.
