Credit where credit is due, and an apology to the CPoC.
Back here, I took a whack at Stephen Harper for allegedly not allowing aboriginals to respond to his apology over residential schools. It turns out that it wasn't really Harper's decision -- it really was a matter of the rules, for which an enterprising NDP aide found a solution.
I'm still a bit hacked off over Harper's turning it into a political smackdown when all he needed to do was quietly explain what the situation was but, fair being fair, I don't need to slap him around over this when there are so many other things I can slap him around for.
He's still a festering douchebag, of course. Just not because of this.

Don't cut Harper too much slack! His people were bloody certain that the NDP would have gone completely mental on them if they still refused to let Fontaine and the others speak!
THAT is why I read this blog. Delicious snark - AND honest updates and corrections when a mistake has been made. This is something that the Blogging Tories are completely bereft of.
Well it was Harper that accused Tina Keeper of trying to make the event partisan when she made the request. Kind of ugly when you think that she is the daughter of one of the most revered elders in Manitoba (and an Order of Canada recipient).
So rather than explain the procedural problem (thankfully solved by Ian Capstick), Harper takes a swipe at Keeper. Asshole douchebag.
