Once upon a time, it was delicious fun to slag Jack Layton. Oh, my ... how times have changed:
Canada reaches out to Taliban
After years of refusing to negotiate with insurgents, soldiers in Kandahar put word out they want to talk
KHENJAKAK, AFGHANISTAN — Canadian troops are reaching out to the Taliban for the first time, military and diplomatic officials say, as Canada softens its ban on speaking with the insurgents.
After years of rejecting any contact with the insurgents, Canadian officials say those involved with the mission are now rethinking the policy in hopes of helping peace efforts led by the Afghan government.
This would normally call for at least a few minutes of embarrassed and shameful silence. If those people had any shame. Or ever shut the fuck up.

bright shiny thing!
I thought it was all doubleplusbad to talk to the enemy?
No, you're absolutely wrong. The CPC position has not changed. The "Taliban Jack" stories have been planted all over the place in a vast left wing conspiracy, similar to the Elections Canada conspiracy, solely to smear the CPC. The entire Internet and all attached servers have been compromised and made to look like that was the CPC position. It most definitely was not. If you remember it that way, you are a mental patient or a drug addict.
Things have changed. It's now a fantastic idea to talk with the Taliban.
I'm willing to bet almost anything that it's gone from one of the stupidiest things ever suggested to sheer brilliance in a few short months. Let's watch.

Um, if you remember correctly, nothing has changed; Canada has always been at war with Oceania.
I mean, talking with the Taliban.
Whatever. Point is: four legs good, two legs bad.
Thank God we never listen to the NDP until it's too late.
