Overheard in the House of Commons:
Government House Leader Peter Van Loan accused the Liberals of sympathizing with the Taliban when he was asked about the policy of Canadian soldiers transferring captured prisoners into Afghan hands.
"What we will not do is what the agent for the Taliban intelligence agency wants us to do over here, which is release to them information on detailed operations in the field," he said in the House of Commons.
House Leader Peter Van Loan: Living proof that even child pornographers and pedophiles can make something of themselves in Stephen Harper's Conservative Party of Canada.

Van Loan is nothing but a thug.
Much like government's proposed "either us with us, or your against us" motion on continuation of the combat mission, the remarks quoted here clearly put lie to the notion that the STEPHEN HARPER Party wants to achieve consensus or work in good faith with the opposition on this issue. After all, wouldn't it make more sense to see if they can actually fulfill the requirements of the Manley Commission recommendations first before putting this thing to a vote? Because if they can't, well then it's dead in the water anyhow and there's no need for an extension vote.
