Yeah, about that "Lord's Prayer" thing ...

Shorter Canadian Dumbass-o-sphere: "I don't know what the big deal is, it's just a short prayer, it doesn't hurt anyone, it only takes a few seconds, it doesn't make any difference to anyone's life, if you don't like it, just ignore it, I mean, really, can you imagine anything more harmless or innocuous ... you want to WHAAATTTT??? Stop saying it??? That's outrageous, it's a horrible, blatant direct attack on our Christian heritage and way of life and morals and values, and without it, we're going to crumble into the Dark Ages and the Taliban will have won!! OHGODOHGODOHGOD, you have no idea what kind of damage you're doing to the very fabric of our society and ... and ... oh, you're going to leave it alone? That's cool, I mean it's not like it's a big deal or anything, really. It's not like it's hurting anybody, right?"

Ironically, Dalton McGuinty is the one actually following the instructions of one Jesus H Christ:

"Matthew 6:5-6: "And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men....when thou prayest, enter into thy closet and when thou has shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret...."

Funny how so-called Christians don't actually know what Jesus said or did. Jesus was against public prayer, as demonstrated by both his alleged words and deeds from the Christians own Bible.

So demanding prayer before the opening of the legislature is anti-Christian...

I would venture to guess that somewhere in the region of 98% of people have never read The Bible, except of a few excerpts and whatever they've gathered from popular culture. Of course they don't know what Christ said. Good grief, one in five think the sun moves around the earth and three out of four can't even find Iraq on a map of the world even though it's been in the news on a daily basis for the last five years!

I've read the bible, cover to cover, and I still don't know what Christ said.

But I know what he didn't say.

When people insist that we can't be good people without prayer or religious instruction or blah blah blah, I always want to say, Fine, let's have prayer to open each legislative day or school day, or whatever. On Monday, it will be a Protestant Christian prayer. Tuesday is Buddhist. Wednesday is Sikh. Thursday is Jewish. Friday is Muslim....
