HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

How amusing. As Scott points out, all we need is the NAMBLA-powered Dick Evans for the trifecta.

I NEED A WORD BEYOND "IRONY": Really, you just have to look on in amazement that someone like Kate McMillan could have written such an outrageously deluded bit of tripe. Consider the following lunacy:

Traits essential to the building of nations and preservation of democracies -- reason, resolve, creativity, self-reliance, common sense -- are no longer holding their own against the tide of the emotive, reactionary, self-obsessed and risk averse.

Um, right ... that would be Blogging Tory Kate McMillan lamenting the decline of reason, and the depressing upswing of emotive, reactionary self-obsession.

And as for curing a "whiny nation," seriously, can you even imagine a more pathetic bunch of snivelling whiners than Canada's conservatives:

  • "He insulted my religion."

  • "We Christians are so persecuted, it's not fair."

  • "All those liberals use bad words, Mommy, it hurts, make them stop!"

Holy fuck, but it's amusing that the same people who criticize others for whining are the very ones who, if they ever actually volunteered for the wars they love to talk about, would be the ones hunkered down in their foxholes and pissing in their pants.

How the National Post could have printed such self-absorbed twaddle is beyond me. Then again, it is the National Post. Sometimes, that's all the answer you need.

I actually read the thing; she thinks it's satire, but really it's just that nagging, badgering, hectoring, moaning, groaning, bitching and hissing the righwing media in this country have mistaken for opinion and insight.

As if Canadians are all little children in need of scolding from childless harridans, screeching themselves hoarse from their oubliettes.

...yeah, that'll work.

Did Barbara Kay die or something?

People like her NEVER understand what Swift was doing in the real "Modest Proposal," ever.

Ti-Guy said...

Sure they do. Swift was criticising Irish children for having it too good.

Nambla Dick proves the liberal bias in the media.

Because the Massachusetts "Assistant Secretary for Policy and Planning" is at least as newsworthy as a US Senator.

I think the NP should be ashamed for having dignified that nasty bit of tripe with the Swift's expression.

Dammit, man, you owe me a new keyboard and monitor for that!

Creativity? She of the stolen intellectual property she airbrushes on to helmets?

This column is written in memory of William Henry, Iva Louise, and Dora Alice Cann.

She's on a real streak of making light of historical tragedies, isn't she?

By "famine", I do not mean those 24-hour fruit-juice-sipping adventures in group narcissism devoted to curing the problems of that continent-wide parade of dysfunction known as "Africa."

But remember, it's the Lefties that are insensitive racists bastards.

Dear Kate:

I had to leave my comment here because The National Post does not accept comments.

I have your solution. Slink south. While they're still overlooking your documents. Become an illegal.

You can starve down here. Gorgeous George has us heading into a depression. Folks are going to starve down here. You might as well be one of them.

These homeowners who took out those big mortgages they could not possibly afford have become the new Chrysler Corp. — to big to let them fall. Except Gorgeous George has your approach to government. He's going to let the reprobates fall. And take the rest of the economy with them. Just like Herbert Hoover. And you.

Today's jolly: St. John — who cribbed his economic policy from Gorgeous George — is criticizing Barak Obama because, St. John says, Barak cribbed his economic policy from Hillary.

She threatened that before the last election if the Tories didn't win. Alas and alack...

"A whiny nation"? Funny that would be in the title of an article that's basically one long, sustained, pedantic whiiiiiiiine about how great it would be to go back to the Good Old Days.

I do agree with her that people should learn how to mind their own business, though. If she wants to be consistent she'll share that advice with the whackjobs that are so obsessed with other peoples' sex lives. (Hint: they're not lefties.)

Got a good "If the Irony were any thicker" comment about McMillan's little rant.
