Over at The Shotgun Blog, poster D. J. White just needs another Friedman Unit or three:
Media derisions aside, Iraq really is getting better
I know Canadian media still love to rip us for liberating Iraq, but I have remained optimistic about the place - even about its evolving politics. Now, I'm not alone. Here's what Rich Lowry of National Review had to say: ...
Come December of 2009, the voters of Iraq will finally elect a government free of Iranian interference.
Ah, yes ... National Review's Rich Lowry:
The Shotgun Blog: Because even total retards deserve to see their ravings in print.
P.S. You have to love White's self-referential preening here:
"I know Canadian media still love to rip us for liberating Iraq, ..."
I'm presuming White is referring to the liberators of Iraq as "us" in the same way that a drunken, morbidly obese sports fan enjoys hollering "WE'RE NUMBER ONE!" as he waddles out of the stadium after another win by the home team. Because, truly, even if neither one of them had anything to do with it, I'm sure they were both there in spirit.
Hugh Hewitt would be so proud.

It just never gets tired...
Isn't Rich Lowry worried that if Iraq is successful, liberal fascism will take hold? Isn't Jonah Goldberg warning him?
National Review: a terrarium in which to observe how a bunch of rocks and simple flora deliberate with each other on what the outside world looks like.
CC — I'm glad you didn't leave that "us" term go unremarked upon.
