The irony is just crippling.

Anti-evolution dingbat David Warren opens his latest diatribe against science thusly:

One of the great attractions of popular Darwinism, as a financial investment, is its appeal to what we in the media refer to, in our jaded way, as the "tabloid audience." That is to say people who, through no fault of their own (lack of education, native dullness, mental injury, etc.) are extremely credulous.

That's when my Popeil Pocket Irony-o-Meter exploded. My nads are just fine, though, thanks for asking.

Says the researcher involved, "Having your study publicized by the media is nice. Having your study misrepresented and misinterpreted in the process is not." (source here)

Thank you for that CC, we are all extremely ashamed of David Warren over here in ottawa. He's just such an ignorant fool it's not even funny.

Guaranteed the sub-literate Warren didn't read Jokela's paper, but relied on the misrepresentations in other media.
