Blogging Tory publicly calls for violent murder of Canada's leftists.

Yeah, it kind of surprised me, too, but you can't argue with a good screenshot:

Does that look like a call for murdering leftists to you? It sure looks like it to me. Although I will admit that, when it comes to parsing someone's words, if there's anything I've learned in my years cruising the alleys and crack dens of Canada's right-wing bloggysphere, it's that:

  • Anything written by a progressive, regardless of how hyperbolic or humourous, is to be taken absolutely literally, and spun in the most unfavourable way imaginable, to the point where almost any combination of words represents a death threat.

  • Anything written by a conservative, no matter how obviously degrading, racist or violent, is to be taken either metaphorically or allegorically, or perhaps just as humour, and if you didn't get the joke, man, just lighten up already.

So perhaps Blogging Tory "Dodo" isn't calling for the violent elimination of all leftists. Who knows? On the other hand, I'm not sure I'd leave her unsupervised with any sharp kitchen utensils and any progressive's children. Know what I'm sayin?

"regardless of how hyperbolic or humourous"

kind of irrelevant, considering the fact that "dr" ray's comment intended neither.

Well, as someone who's periodically mused about internment camps and gassing (all in good fun, naturally), I'm not going to get on my high horse over these specific remarks. That blog, in its entirety, spells trouble though for The Blogging Tories. Not that they care...

I forget which Blogging Bory it was yesterday, but one of them was trying to pass off the Birthers and entire "Obama not born in USA" Meme as a construction of the Leftwing,... and that the GOP had absolutely nothing to do with it. The Whole GOP sponsored bill for future POTUS to have to provide the long form BC,... leftwingers,... Orally Titz,... well she's a Socialist I guest,... Canadian Scenty (well I guess he is a Marxist, Commie, Liberal or something,...)

Fox News and WND, why they must be liberal MSM now or something

Not sure what your point is, Kevron. The stuff that is described as being emphasized is what follows the part I posted. As far as I can tell, the text above that I reproduced is Dodo's original writing and can't be attributed to anyone else.

Unfortunately, you have to accept the double-standard. When loony conservatives say something vile, inflammatory or provocative, it’s meant to be taken metaphorically, or as a joke (almost always a feeble one). However, if a liberal says anything could even be remotely perceived as menacing by some enormously creative stretch of the imagination, then it’s to be regarded an imminent and perilous “death threat” and must be responded to accordingly — battening down the hatches of commentary, throwing up the walls of moderation, hunkering down in their mental bomb-shelters to “duck and cover” from the onslaught of toxic vitriol, etc.

Bonus “conservative” reaction: They get to play the “victim” card and afterward pretend that they’re persecuted martyrs suffering for their cause. This often prompts them to hide their real identity with some plausible fear-based excuse or simply moan and whine endlessly about how mean, awful and rottenly depraved their imagined tormentors are…

"Dr John Ray" is a blogger and a Karl Rove groupie, it would appear.

No surprises there.

Shared psychosis has really become a serious problem.

What I find amusing about this is that they assume 'leftists', whatever that is, are unable to fight back. They think it will be as easy as killing puppies.

The Axis used to say the same thing about the Allies. And guess who lost? ;)

That's a constant isn't it though?

Just because I don't WANT to beat someone's head in doesn't mean I'm not ABLE to.

I'd quite like to see "Dodo Can't Think" equipped with a sword. Although it would be kinder to equip her with steel-toed booties first.

"Dodo Barely Has Bladder Control" is the own-goal of the Wingnutosphere.
