You can't make this stuff up.

No, really:

Just remember, Canada would not be as great today if it was not for our founding under Christianity. We would not have our political freedoms, or our religious freedoms, or our social freedoms if we were not a Christian nation. Remember, it was Christians who ended the slave trade in Britain and America, it was our Christian past which allowed religious freedoms to take place, and it is our Christian ways which allow our most fundamental freedoms.

Eviscerating this would be like kicking a blind, mentally-retarded quadraplegic out of her wheelchair. And even I have limits.

Have mercy on the poor wretch. His delusions are what give him purpose. He'd be lost without them.

Wow. Someone give that tory a credible history book so he can offer an INFORMED "conservative viewpoint". Or I could suggest a few pages from Hitchens's Good is Not Great.

Coincidentally, the United States would not be the same nation today if it were not for the Christians.

Yet another young conservative whose faith in the absolute righteousness of the convictions he has drawn from intellectual sources as diverse as Ayn Rand, Rush Limbaugh and his pastor is mercifully unclouded by any kind of practical experience in the world.
I know its like kicking a puppy, CC, but if it isn't punished and show the error of its ways, it will keep whizzing on the carpet.

The only difference I see between the lesser wingnuts and those at the top of the neconservative food-chain is vocabulary and spelling.

The ignorance and the delusions are all the same.

Slavery if not for Christians? BUllshit! The slavers used the Bible to justify their slavery and treatment of slaves because the Bible says it's ok.

They're right on one thing though. Neither Canada nor the US would be the same without Christians. I mean I can't imagine how very different both nations would be without lunatic idiots who can't read their own holy books condemning everyone who didn't believe the same as them from every street corner, billboard, and radio talk show.

Maybe we'd actually put aside the shit that divides us for a few years and work together to actually fix some of the problems with our societies.
