Um ...
It is still puzzling why Rebel News and its financial clearinghouse and accounting firm The Democracy Fund have CRA-approved charitable status for the simple purpose of bailing a career criminal out of jail over and over and over again.
Perhaps someone should ask the CRA what in the ever-loving fuck is going on here?
P.S. Remember when I explained what "fake news" looks like?
I'm glad I could clear that up for you.

Pastor Artur’s own church had its tax exempt status revoked over a decade ago for his offensive political use of the pulpit. Interestingly, the Court imposed a publication ban on his bail hearing yesterday, presumably because they’re tired of providing him with a megaphone and podium for his fundraising.
Hmmmmm ... an interesting suggestion, but I'm not sure that holds up since, as Pastor Art is presumably still represented by the incompetent dim-witted mouthpiece provided to him by Rebel News, he would not be permitted to address the court directly, unless perhaps asked directly. His job would be to sit there and keep his mouth shut and allow his lawyer to represent him, and if he persisted in piping up without permission, he could be held in contempt.
Having said that, it would be interesting to learn the reason behind the ban.
It's standard practice among defense counsel to request a publication ban on pre-trial hearings, as provided by the Criminal Code. It prevents the eventual triers of fact (judge or jury) from being influenced by media coverage of evidence that may not be admissible at trial.
Ah, thanks for clearing that up, although it does seem that Pastor Art is his own worst enemy in that, the instant he exits the courtroom, he can't keep from running his mouth and getting into even more trouble. I suspect that, since it's all in aid of relentless and never-ending fundraising, he's willing to take the chance.
By the way, it's interesting that chances are good the publication ban is by request of Pastor Art's own lawyer, since the breathless, hyperbolic shrieking out there is that this is just another example of leftist, cancel culture censorship and violating Pastor Art's right to free speech. Be amusing if it's the result of his own lawyer trying to protect him from his own stupidity.
"At [defence lawyer Sarah] Miller’s request, Kendall imposed a publication ban on the proceedings, which began Tuesday, covering both the lawyers’ arguments and any evidence presented before the judge."
