Freedom Convoy: Regerts ... I've had a few.

An online lament by Freedom Convoy mark Martin Joseph Anglehart shows a sad, lonely man who just wanted to be part of something important and meaningful and, for his trouble, was sucked dry by a community of leeches, parasites, grifters and sleazy scam artists who took everything he had, then sent him packing.

If only someone like Rebel News' Chad Williamson was willing to step in and lend a hand. Someone should ask him.

I'm wondering if this guy has any legal recourse to sue for reimbursement of his expenses. Remember, the convoy organizers promised repeatedly to reimburse convoy participants for their expenses, but here's the catch. I'm pretty sure that, if you read carefully, all those promises were just for "truckers" to get reimbursed, and this guy clearly wasn't a "trucker", he was just a hanger-on who wanted to help out, so I'm going to guess he's shit out of luck, especially since I don't think there were any legally-binding contracts for any of this.

I feel sorry for the guy but maybe he'll be the sad example that discourages others from being suckered by scammers and grifters in the future.

Guys like this may be able to sue the convoy organizers, but we'll never know. To paraphrase Kanye, the lawyers "ain't messin' with no broke niggas."

A promise to reimburse is worth the paper its written on.

MJA: They promised to reimburse me for my expenses!

Counsel: Did they ever put that in writing?

MJA: I’ve got a text here that says they’ll have money for me on Tuesday!

Counsel: So they never actually made a commitment to reimburse you, did they?

MJA: No …

Counsel: … Your Honour, we are done with this witness.

Dude's donation account has $150. I called Ottawa Police to see if it's even legal to send money to this guy - as in aide to a convoy participant - and they said it wouldn't be a problem but suggested it would be better for him to direct him to a local shelter.

Guy's story stinks from a mile off and I'm guessing that the CBC didn't do much fact checking. I'd wager he's full of shit and running a little con on us.

as the Freedumb For Canadians Spiters would say "MORE FAKE NEWS". The man is obviously a pathological liar, use a critical eye when approaching the situation. i'm not even sure if the guy is homeless or not at the moment. An eviction over political opionion sounds highly illegal in such short time span. a video of him packing up "his place" shows him outside of a house loading the new? van with .... hmm maybe all of a blanket and 24 bottles of water. I'm lead to believe that he might have been at some random property. the man has obviously been through a journey, but perhaps its not the one he tells. the general consensus amongst his peers is that he had lied and made off with money/laptops/etc etc, under the guise of 'woe is me, pls help me fren.'

I'm not going to go in on the man too hard, but as soon as i heard his story my fraud alert went off. So to say you stand for a cause, make a bunch of hullabaloo whilst stealing from your peers, then throwing them under the bus and team switching because of his own decievery and fuckover-y and the guy still has his number and fundraising site(i think he removed his paypal)
Tell your friends this guy is complete emotional predator / liar and wants nothing more than your hard earned dollars. He will play the stolen valor card, he will say hes terminal, been fucked over, in jail for 15 years, orphaned, homeless, recently divorced, no friends, fuck... you name it, if it grabs at your heart strings im pretty sure he'll tell it. check the coolopois intrview about him, and then look at the story / the real articles about "being raised by killers". nowhere did it mention him having 3 somewhat sibilings in his account, nor the couple having anymore but the 3 children of her own. i mean its potential its true. but personally i think it might just be another fictious story to build his character that was loosely based around the truth. And that truth being his name anglehart.
The only other presence of him online, if it wasnt for the grammar in a comment i wouldnt have thought it was the same guy.

Unfortunate for the guy but at this point he's lost any credibility in my eyes, the reason for the remorse isnt cause he feels bad. its cause he got caught. Obvious crocidile tears for the youtube video, speaking of which; how the hell did he afford all that data to uplaod if hes in the middle of a field in kenora of all places.
1. Got his van taken away in Sherbrooke, QC
2. Got another van to 'rent' for 350 a month for the year, registered in quebec.
3. Drive ALL THE WAY back to ALBERTA to Pack up...pretty much nothing lol
4. then proceeds to drive back to ontario? and sleep in a field outside of kenora of all places.
5. Proceeds to upload on his data 20-30 minute youtube videos a day, thats gotta leach up all your data;

So theres my speel; love it or hate it, i'm not here to debate it <3
