"Sure, guns are perfectly safe in the hands of most people, but you just never know if some of those people, after they buy a gun, might do something irresponsible and dangerous like shoot their ex-girlfriend, so because some people might abuse the privilege of owning a gun, we're forced to deny that right to everyone. It's the only way to be safe."
