Canada's favourite deranged fetus fetishist and sanctimonious, prissy scold is tugging emotionally on her "Hello, Kitty" thong yet again:
Norway: Vast Majority of Down Syndrome Babies are Aborted
... The researchers looked at 49 314 births that took place in Norway between 1987 and 2004. Of those births, there were 88 cases of Down Syndrome. 38 were detected prenatally. Of those, 84% were terminated.
But this has nothing to do with eugenics. People don't want to deal with a sick child, that's all. And besides, the parents were doing the babies a favour by killing them, what with the hardships they would face.
Why, those heartless bastards ... choosing to try again for a perfectly healthy infant. Didn't they realize that the proper strategy would have been to carry the fetus to term, at which point there would have been an endless line of right-wingers happy to take over and accept the responsibility of raising a Down Syndrome child. Or maybe not:
Consider, too, that the children currently available for adoption in Canada are disproportionately burdened with problems of one kind or another. Many suffer from physical problems such as fetal alcohol syndrome. Many are toddlers, or even older children, not infants, who have been seized from abusive homes by Children’s Aid Societies and made wards of the state by the courts. Would-be parents may be unwilling to take on the extra challenges that such children pose, but would happily take on the care of an uninjured, pre-born baby without undesirable psychological baggage.
Quite so, quite so. The same right-whingers who would berate you for not gleefully accepting the additional responsibility of raising a particularly challenging child are, not surprisingly, the very ones who, well, aren't really keen on actually adopting any of those themselves because they're, you know, icky. And extra work. And not, you know, perfect. And where's the fun in that?
Thanks for your opinion, SUZANNE. And any time you want to shut the fuck up, we'd be eternally grateful. Really.

"Hunter" said she'd do it. Along with being there when the hurricane hits and all the other super-nice things that "conservatives" do while progressives are protesting in sunny, exotic Washington D.C. ... or something like that.
""Hunter" said she'd do it."
Yes, I'm sure she would, except for the minor fact that she wouldn't.
WTF does pre-born mean? Is it like a pre-owned car?
These folks are so weird.
