You say "homophobe" like it's a bad thing.

Shorter Blogging Tory Girl in Blue: "I have nothing against gays. I just wish they wouldn't act so ... well, you know ... gay."

BONUS DUMBASSITUDE:

"Uhh.. another thing I find unsettling: a place being a tourism hotspot for people of a certain sexual orientation."

Or the very thought of a cruise targeting a particular demographic? How thoroughly fucked up is that? Oh, wait ...

Not much difference there, except I'm guessing the gay cruise had better sex.

CIVIL DISCOURSE, AS IT WERE. Over in Blue's comments section, "Alex" brings his own debonair wit and charm to the table:

I was under the impression that [Rosie's] trips were just part of the yearly whale migration. You shouldn't criticize her natural instincts ....

Which might lead one to wonder just what Alex has contributed lately to the public dialogue. OK, then. Movin' on ...

Yeah ... I'm guessing Twatsy is already on the bat-phone to her, encouraging her to press charges for harassment and emotional damage and physical assault. And being a big meanie.

This girl seems to be a little obsessed with the lesbians. Isn't she the one who was freaking out about the song "I Kissed a Girl."

That and I just love Elisabeth Hasselbeck.

...and the "taste of her cherry Chapsteck" no doubt.

Is there a spot that's especially quaint and to-be-enjoyed by straight people?

The red areas on this map seem pretty safe.

Red Tory and I are having a tiny bit of fun over in her thread...

Branson Missouri. Have at it, breeders.

Isn't this like the hoary old sniff "There is a Black History Month, why isn't there a White History Month?"

And the response is "Every month is White History Month".

Did Halifax proclaim that straights are no longer welcome as tourists? Perhaps she is concerned she might see gay people there being, well, gay.

I understand Saudi Arabia would be a great place to vacation if you don't want to see any gays around being gay. You'll see them, but you won't see them being gay. If you're lucky, you might even get to see one being killed. Maybe GOTR will be mistaken for one, so they'll have to cure her of it.

Speaking of the red areas on that map:

It never really occurred to me before that I spend most of my time, both at home and away, in areas that are blue.

Lately, I have ventured into areas that are red. The people in the red areas literally do not look or act like the kinds of people I am accustomed to dealing with. I hope no one writes me off as an "elitist," but there are really rough edges to people in those red areas. This may explain why I always have felt more comfortable in either Upper or Lower Canada than large pasts of my home country.

I always find it so funny that the Republicans are the "red" party today, even though one usually tries to smear the Dems as being a bunch of commies (i.e. Reds).

That probably explains why the right wing sneering at the Liberal party having red as its main colour is always a little halfhearted.

It must be a recent thing, since we still hear about PetroCan's headquarters being referred to as Red Square...

I find it adulterously hilarious.

These are colors on a map. We have a tradition in the US Army that goes back to The Revolutionary War, when Americans wore blue and the enemy wore red: we depict friendly positions on the map in blue, and enemy positions in red.

When "we" first started depicting friendly and unfriendly states on maps, the "we" who colored the maps were members of the working press. These depictions slipped by the publishers because the editors and publishers were mostly Republican draft dodgers who did not know the difference between red and blue, at least as applied to maps. By the time the goppers figured out the significance of red and blue, it was too late.

(Red Tory heretofore has counseled me that in Canada, red is the liberal color. But Americans are still "true blue" and red remains an unAmerican color.)

According to "Alex the Slav" it will be no time at all before these queers will be humping in the streets and frightening the horses.

Alex knows about these things. He used to live in a gay neighborhood, don't you know. Riiiiiight.

Ugh. I shouldn't have gone back there. What loons.
