Is it really fair to describe the pope as a catholic in a really big hat or a bear as a hairy animal that shits in the woods?

As a Canadian - I find your simple answer not only completely wrong, but proof that you have never really read the full body of Michael Yon's work.

Yon is a well known 'independent'- he is neither a republican nor a democrat although both parties love to lay claim to him -- so influential is his voice--- yet it is those on the left that most often have not read his full body of work, have never listened to his interviews - or are suffering from a synaptic misfires that prevent them from comprehending what he's written. In many cases, they remain blinded by their own stupidity and bias: anyone that doesn't outrightly support their myopic uneducated ill informed position on any matters be it on a complicated war, international relations, or abortion, who repeat with great authority, the same nonsense you do, about him being a right wing war blogger.

Its amazing how liberals believe their own shit and love repeating it ad nauseum --- even when wrong on both accounts.

I 'll say it again --- He neither leans right - nor is a war monger - but you'd know that if you actually read the full body of his work and better yet - were able to c-o-m-p-r-e-h-e-n-d what he's written.

Michael has been extremely vocal on many occasions in his writings and during interviews in his criticism of the Bush administration, of the mishandling of the war, of many Generals, and of the Mainstream Media and the 'new media" ( bloggers) both right and left. Likewise - he has been forthright in pointing out those in the old and new media who provide honest unbiased coverage of the war. He has many fans and readers within the Mainstream media - including Brian Williams, of NBC Nightly News, a LEFT leaning news network, Mick Ware from CNN,another left leaning network, and a long list of reporters from the uber left leaning NY Times.

As biased as these organizations are, they have all offered Mike the chance to write for them because his unbiased coverage of Iraq and Afghanistan is unparalleled -- he offers what they seem incapable of -- boots on ground unedited, raw evocative honest and unbiased coverage of this war in its entirety --- the good the bad and the ugly - with complete candor - which has in fact gotten him into trouble with the Military brass on many occasions.

If anyone is "hackatular" - its you..it really defines you brilliantly - you're one of these people who uses Michael Yon's name to draw attention to your blog ..and you appear to be far more jealous of his success than you'd ever have the balls to admit in public or privately.

Progressive snark - hardly! Keep dreaming!

CC,

I'm not sure how that post on Tblog proves that Yon is a conservative, much less proves that his reports are therefore not credible.

You're not posting this simply because Tblog seems to agrees with you is it?

Yon's writings clearly show support for the helpful, wonderful Americans, who will (dammit) win the affections of the good, simple, people of Iraq, ... if only the cowardly politicians can withstand the deluded/evil calls for withdrawl from the liberal media and the Islamic-fascist-lovin' "peace" movement.

I've read enough of his work to comment. Am I "huntress" going to spend a significant portion of time getting up to speed on the whole corpus of work of somebody linked to and praised by so many people who are so goddamned stupid and disgusting?

No, ... no I'm not.

You people have to get used to the fact that you have no credibility. Less than thirty percent of Americans believe your shit, and they actually drank the Kool-Aid that the blogging tories want Canadians to drink.

You guys have no credibility because you're really, really, really, (i can't emphasize this enough) really stupid, and because of this, all your plans and ideas are shitty and they all fail, and there's no disgusing this.

oh my good grief. i just spent a few moments at the home of the huntress. she is in love with one mr. yon. let no one criticize this glowing, brave hero of the pen, lest the huntress fire off a few thousand words o' scorn.

"I am not the enemy, I am an American..." and a canadian and a... and a... and you are being mean to the hero of hero town that even brian williams reads first because of the heroness of his heroing. and if you don't read every word that mike ever wrote, you can't possibly comprehend how super squishy awesome he is and how everyone loves him so much.

so to be fair to the melting puddle of love that is the huntress, i'm going to go and read me some of that hunky mike's blog, just so i can comprehend how wrong it is to call him for peddling unsubstantiated rumour on the basis that even if story isn't true it could be, because and so there.

CC: huntress ate you up.

Thwap:"You people have to get used to the reality that you have no credibility. Less than thirty percent of Americans believe your shit, and they actually drank the Kool-Aid that the blogging tories need Canadians to drink."

The left wing media and blogs have been using the "Big Lie" technique, that is why the above quote of yours is accurate. Just because many people believe the "Big Lie" does not make it correct. It is just a widespread false perception of reality.

We need more reporting like Yons to get a true picture of what is going on. Whether you like it or not, does not matter. Truth is truth whether I like it or not.

I know that you believe America should withdraw from Iraq. I think we will have another Cambodian killing field type situation. I do not want to see that.

I think you want America to loose. But, that is just a speculation, because I have not read your full body of work.

"You people" is de-humanizing, you should stop doing that.

"The left wing media and blogs have been using the "Big Lie"

wayne, you do realize that you have separated a big lie, ie. left wing media from the term 'big lie' by only a few words. let's face it wayne, if the main stream media was actually leaning as far to the left as the right wing insists, america'd never have have gotten away with invading iraq. the truth of it is that after 9/11, the media was on a flag waving, neo-con bandstand right behind every dim witted pronouncement of bush, cheney, rumsfeld and the rest of the serial liars that started the wrong war, in the wrong place at the wrong time. if the media was so left leaning, there would have been due diligence, fact checking and pointed questions asked. none of that took place.

if the media was bent so far left, it would not have taken half a flipping decade for that same media to begin to question the tactics, decisions and strategies of american war leadership. the big lie is that the media is slanted demonstrably to the left. it is a big frickin' lie propped up only by the repeated assertion that that is the case. look at who the guests are and have been on the talk shows, look who gets the air time to promote their agendas, look who is treated seriously in the big media. it is not weighted to the left.

huntress is a far right drum-beating loon. she can make assertions until the cows come home. her assertions are certainly no more valid, as regards the quality and veracity of yon's reporting than cc's, tbogg's or anyone else's. perhaps it would be instructive to note just how vehemently a right wing extremist like huntress reacts to their critiques.

when is the last time a far right mouth piece went so far off the deep end to defend a non-partisan centrist reporter? wayne, you've been duped by a haughty rant. the basic fact remains that yon peddled rumours and defended them by asserting that even if they weren't true, they might as well be because the bad guys are bad. calling him on his lazy boy-baking claim has been further construed by the big lie merchants as a tacit defence of al qaeda. which is, oddly enough, a big frickin' lie.

every now and then wayne, you show a sign of clue retention. give your head a shake and try again. jeeziz. huntress is deeply and completely in love with mike yon. she unleashed a string of name calling and talking points. she hasn't eaten anyone up, she had a tantrum on behalf of her dreamie fantasy boy. it's like the 16-magazine of war reportage and she wants to win a dream date.

I read Yon as saying the baked boy is a rumour, while it may not be true, the bad guys do horrible things.

Yon reported on a mass grave, that was horrific, and true, and I think that should have been enough of a story.

I thought huntress made some good points, points that were better than what I have read here so far.

The left media did tap dance to the right after 9/11, that is true. But, I think they have taken a dance step back to the left.

They should be dancing in the middle only with the facts, not right or left facts, just facts.
