Long weekend welcome back open thread.

Nah, it's been pretty quiet ... and you?

SIGH ... The wingnut-o-sphere is going to be partying tonight.

AND, NO, George Bush doesn't give a fuck what you think. After all, why start now?

OH, WHAT THE HELL ... place your bets: Does anyone think there will be a single Blogging Tory who will be upset about this mockery of justice? Come on ... I'll give you odds.

Wow, Cheneys' Bitch doesn't have to do time....I guess it was inevitable...pandering to the base of what 24-25%. If you lose them, I guess you have nothing.
Free at last, free at last, Lord Almighty, Scooters free at last.

I'm back. Quick, who said the following?
"I don’t believe my role [as governor] is to replace the verdict of a jury with my own, unless there are new facts or evidence of which a jury was unaware, or evidence that the trial was somehow unfair."
The Dunce
executed 152 people while governor

Fuck the base. If Libbey did time, Libbey would have talked. Bush is protecting his own ass.

Ha ha ha. Oh wait, HA HA HA. "Plamegate" sure turned out well for you guys, eh? I can still remember the blog posts entitled, "Rove to be indicted."

Is Fitzmas coming again? Ha ha ha.

It's pretty good so far; everyone who's tried to dismiss this treason has revealed themselves for the assholes they are.

Wow, a balless and guttless Anonymous commenter. Can't even put his real name or blogger id to meaningless crap. Well done, clap, clap clap.

Oh, ps, Anon.

Scooter is still a convicted Felon, with fines, and a record. Not exactly a clean slate is it skippy?

And we still have, what 16 months to mail Rove's balls to the wall, and if a Dem wins the Whitehouse they will have even a better chance of sending that piece of shit to prison.

I'll say it... The real "fitzmas present" would have been to have Libby do time and now you folks have lost out. Sucks to be you.

"Scooter is still a convicted Felon, with fines, and a record. Not exactly a clean slate is it skippy?"

Yup. But the defense fund (more than 2 million) goes a long way in covering the 250K fine. The pseudo pardon now gets Libby off the radar and clears the way for the full expungement of his record later.

"And we still have, what 16 months to mail Rove's balls to the wall, and if a Dem wins the Whitehouse they will have even a better chance of sending that piece of shit to prison."

Just make sure you've included the proper postage while you're "mailing" his balls to the wall. We wouldn't want them to be returned to sender now would we? Insufficient postage can be a bitch...

And imagine the poor postal worker who has to HANDLE those things!
With the way he acts, Rove's balls must be the size of cantaloupes.

But on a serious note, we could see this coming a mile away. There is no level Bush will not stoop to in order to protect his cronies and buddies.
There's a reason American pundits want to have a beer with this guy - he takes care of his friends! ;)

I agree with The Seer, this was nothing else but the deliberate continuation of the obstruction of justice into the Plame betrayal/outing to protect Cheney and likely Bush as well as Rove from criminal consequences from Libby cracking in prison. It is remarkable that this happened as soon as it became impossible for Libby to avoid at least a few weeks in jail with today's DC Appeals court decision, and when you read GWB's statement on this it is clear he chose to act for that very reason that Libby was going to jail. The idea that the sentence is excessive is ludicrous, it was exactly the same sentence thousands of others convicted for perjury and obstruction of justice have received, and the sole reason he was given this was because of his connections to the top and what information he knows that can hurt them that they risked having come out for Libby to get out of jail sooner by going to Fitzgerald with it.

As for anyone that thinks this is a good thing or defends Libby, well they are either ignorant cheerleaders or lying partisans hacks, because the impartial factual evidence in the public record makes it clear that the crime did occur, that Libby not only perjured and obstructed justice but was also at a nexus regarding this leak in the WH as revealed during his trial, and that by any definition Plame was an active NOC when her cover was blown and that she was covered by the IIPA by being outside of the USA acting in her CIA NOC capacity as recently as 2002. So I have no time for them and I hold these folks in either contempt for their ignorant cheerleading and active loathing for those that know better but are too partisan to accept the truth/reality publicly out of partisan concerns.

Richard,

Thanks for coming out like that and showing that the rule of law means sweet-dick-all to you.

And what? [Guffaw!] You were talking about "principles" or something or other in a previous post?

You contemptible moron!

At least we on the Left have been learning from the examples of Harris, Harper, bush II, and your own worthless self.

If you guys ever fail to steal another election and the good guys win, we have your past statements to justify our putting the entire apparatus of the state to put you and all your kind through the wringer, ... the law be damned.

Since any sort of stoicism or dignity is beyond you, of course you'll hypocritically bleat "It's not fair!!!" but that's irrelevant.

Don't worry, anonymous will forever display his hypocrisy and ignorance, and hey, noname, do not forget that this shit all adds up to a devastating dem landslide in '08.
Remember, anonymous, all you trolls going "na-na-na-nah, look who is in power and we will kick your ass in '06" before the last elections in the US.

I think the louder the shitballs gloat, the more afraid they are about the future. I've never seen a group (wingnuts) be so wrong en masse as '06.
You up to predicting o8, chickenshits?

No matter, you gutless eunichs wouldn't be capable of owning up to it anyways. I have yet to see a hijra show any balls and say "Man, I was wrong, people don't like being treated like doormats and voted these fuckers out"

Wow, the goalposts have moved substantially. Not ending up in prison now constitutes gloat-worthy victory for the right.

That's kind of sweet, isn't it?

Ahh that clears it up. Phew. For a second there I thought that right wing conservative types were all about the Law and suffering the consequences of breaking it.

I'm glad you've proved me wrong.
