Stephen Harper: Buyer's remorse writ large.

I wonder if someone's having awkward second thoughts:

Karzai's Taliban threat unacceptable: Harper

Prime Minister Stephen Harper slammed Hamid Karzai following reports the Afghan president has threatened to quit politics and join the Taliban.

"I have not seen the context of President Karzai's remarks but what I have seen reported is completely unacceptable," Harper told reporters in Mississauga, Ont., on Wednesday.

"We have men and women who are over there putting their lives on the line to help the population in its struggle against the Taliban. These remarks are not helpful and in the context of the dangerous work that our people are doing they are completely unacceptable to Canada and I'm sure the same is true for all of our allies."

Here's a hint, Stephen: Hamid Karzai doesn't give a fuck what you think because he owns you. You've been played. And, seriously, it looks good on you.

Idiot.

TALIBAN STEPHEN!

By sheer coincidence, no possible connection, we see "hunter" was floating the first cut and run trial balloon late Monday. Naturally all her usual online suspects are completely onside. And it's just a coincidence. And the Liberals' fault.

If I could make just one little comment... I don't think "played" is really the right word for what's happened here. "supreme pwnage" is a little closer to the mark, in my humble opinion.

Harper admires Karzai. He wants to be Karzai. Wait...he is Karzai!

Let's see, Taliban Stephen supported Kaizai when he's been torturing, supporting a narco-state, cheated during elections and basically been the mayor of Kabul... but one little remark about joining the Taliban and little Stephen wants to cut in run...

What a coward especially since the Conservatives are doing so well over there...

Karzai's just blowing it out of his ass. Any idiot, him included, knows damn well that if the Taliban ever got their mitts on him they'd slowly chop him into little pieces without the courtesy of killing him first. Anyone who falls for this stupid bluff is even dumber than Hamid.

I've never met him, but he has always stuck me as quite mad. It's appalling how stupid our leaders are. Why do we allow them to go outside?

Yeah, sooey, I've been wondering about that one. Why do we let them loose? The fact that they walk through life without a helmet is mind boggling.

Oh, the news on the radio this morning isn't good, I'm afraid. Brother Steve's answer is to send more troops to Afghanistan...Yeesh! When will he learn?

Aside from the "we bought a corrupt dictator, and now we're stuck with him: I have not seen the context of President Karzai's remarks ????

Now, I haven't seen the full context either, but how about our PM takes a look at the context of remarks before commenting on them to reporters. Harper basically just said "I saw the headlines, reading articles and reports from staff is hard, so here's my reaction to the headline". Irresponsible twerp.
