Oh, dear ...
54% of Canadians oppose Afghan mission: EKOS poll
... Nationally, 54 per cent said they opposed it, while 34 per cent said they supported it, according to the poll. Twelve per cent were undecided.
Opposition was decisive in Ontario, Quebec and Atlantic Canada, while Western Canada had a narrower gap between those who support the mission and those who oppose it, EKOS found.
In related news, Canada's Blogging Tories still vocally defended the mission, as long as other people got to die for it because the Blogging Tories have, you know, important stuff to do. Kinda like this.

And in other news "Ralphael" (not his real name) thinks that the problem is all in marketing...
Young Mr.Khadr must certainly have the best public relations people in the business, because if he were a brand I’m sure I would have no trouble recognizing it in the supermarket.
And blames it on the Liberals....
Ralph seems like the equivalent of DoDo but with grammar check....
Maybe if the idiot pray real hard and all wear red t-shirts victory will be theirs....
It's testimony to the bankruptcy of "the mission" that after 8 years of propaganda, a majority of Canadians continues to oppose that imperialist clusterfuck.
It's a testament to our decrepit democracy and debased media that the opinion of Canadians simply does not matter.
Ti-Guy,
Oh I thought about that too. Especially given the fact that "the mission" is allegedly to bring democracy to Afghanistan.
It's become indefensible at this point. Everyone still cramming this down our throats should resign from political activity for the rest of their lives.

Is that what it is now? I've lost track. I caught a clip yesterday of Noam Chomsky being interviewed by Evan Solomon on the CBC a while back and at some point, it seemed that "getting bin Laden" was the mission.
Who's bin Laden?
Obama bin Missing his birth certificate,...
