These people just never freaking learn, do they?

Honestly, it's like you're playing with them with a ball and, suddenly, you hide the ball under a blanket and they get this totally confused look on their faces.

From back in 2004:

"There's no question that Iraq was a threat to the people of the United States ... the most dangerous threat of our time ... The people of the United States and our friends and allies will not live at the mercy of an outlaw regime that threatens the peace with weapons of mass murder ... The dictator of Iraq and his weapons of mass destruction are a threat to the security of free nations ... This is about imminent threat ... The Iraqi regime is a threat to any American. ... Iraq is a threat, a real threat."

Mark Steyn, 2006:

Facing Down Iran

Our lives depend on it.

That Santayana guy -- he really was on to something, wasn't he?

Iraq, Iran, come on. The threat remains the same, only the last letter changes. Or maybe President Beavis just got the letters mixed up. So maybe the USA invade the wrong country because os a simple typo, hey I make them all the time.

But, Iran's predident is the next Hitler... Hmm.. I've heard that before.

What I can't understand is how these clowns can be as so dumb as to think there is any country (other than Russia, and perhaps China) that is a (military) threat to the U.S. What the fuck did they spend trillions on all those nukes for?

But the answer is that their intelligence has nothing to do with it. They have simply become 'Sovietized'. They would fit well in North Korea. Dear leader says it, so it must be so.

Yeah, or moved their bowl.

The public is quite blind to the change, and when a speaker, mid-sentence, changes the enemy from Eurasia to Eastasia (speaking as if nothing had changed) the people are shocked as they notice all the flags and banners are wrong (they blame Goldstein and the Brotherhood) and quite effectively tear them down.
