Who WAS that demented fuckwit on the radio? Oh ...

Hopped in the CCmobile just long enough to drop off a few things earlier, and caught the last few minutes of an Omar Khadr-related ramble on CBC Radio One, jumping into the middle of an absolutely deranged, dementia-laden screed by some mind-meltingly ignorant, gibbering whackjob whose position was (and I paraphrase):

"I don't think Khadr's being tortured, they don't torture at Guantanamo, it's not like Abu Ghraib, and besides there were all these people who were released from there who went on to kill again and did you know that the average weight gain at Gitmo is 18 pounds so they're obviously being treated well."

There was more idiocy while, the whole time, I kept wondering, who is this dumbfuck? And eventually, "... and I'd like to thank my guests, Peter Worthington of the Toronto Sun..." And, holy shit, doesn't that explain everything in a timely way? So let's rip Peter a new asshole, shall we?

Yeah, all that weight gain, they sure are eating well. Where have we heard that before? Oh, right:

Two types of fruit, dammit! Two types of fruit! The luxury!

And as for that crap about released detainees going back to the battlefield to kill again, well, just bite me.

The CBC: Trying to appease everyone by balancing liberal with retarded.

Worthington's become completely irrational - his recent columns make me suspect that he's been hanging out with Michael Coren a little too much.

I caught that panel discussion as well. Worthington added that for many Canadians, Omar Khadr is not even considered a red-blooded Canadian. Racist moron.

Why the fuck does the media keep doing this? Are they all fucking insane?

Worthington did surprise me early on: he says Khadr has no business being charged with anything. He was defending against a foreign invasion and should be held as a prison of war. Not completely unhinged.

Yep, I caught that on the radio this morning as well. One long spiel of unsubstantiated cringe-inducing apologism, nominally interrupted by bemused sounding bystanders. I didn't even know who it was because I came in on the middle of it, so thanks for clearing that up.

I was just astounded the Ceeb was giving what sounded like an old fogey let off the reichwing leash all the airtime. All that after coming out of the doctor's office. The drill was less irritating than that. But hey, there's your free speech in action. Although it likely doesn't count with the usual suspects because it was on CBC.
