And now, a man who wants no introduction ...

Good thinking. If I received that award, I wouldn't want any of my colleagues to know about it, either.

blink.

"The many students, professors, and scientists who have been denied degrees or tenure and removed from positions and jobs for no other reason than acceptance of—or even sympathy to—intelligent design theory is very telling of the importance of keeping these bright young minds out of the crosshairs of those opposed to open-minded investigation and critical thought."

Yup, cuz those who believe Jesus walked with the dinosaurs are ever-so open-minded and supportive of critical thought.

The self-delusional capacity of rightwingnutter neo-cons to create a parallel universe that jives with their perceptions never ceases to amaze - and terrify - me.

and the winner of the prize so prestigious that it is awarded in a shroud on anonymity gets a hundred bucks! hah.

ID guys and gals, well, I think they are amusing.

It's the Creationists, that beleive in the literal sense of the word, that the Earth and all the creatures on it, was created in 6 days, with a day of rest about 6,000 years ago.

Now those guys scare me...

So much, I want to hide under my bed just thinking of them.

Perhaps I should be paying more attention to the distinction. To me, Creationists and ID folks are all basic religious fundamentalist zealots.

They are a little different (not much). The ID crowd can accept that the Bible is not an actual word for word accounting of world history from start to finish.

They are still right out to lunch though... And just a few dollars short of that Happy Meal too.

(Why is my word verification "repent"?)

(I kid)

or their stance is just a pretense, with the idea that once they manage to sell id, creation is the next "logical" step.

Gee, why not claim it's a $10,000 prize? The only one in a position to know won't expose them.
