Blogging Tory "Gay and Right" Fred wants to see a little anger on your part:
Where's the world's concern for Iraqi gays???
We've all seen in the last week the incredible concern shown for the supposed new law in Afghanistan that legalizes spousal rape. I say supposed because no one has seen the actual text. In any case, world leaders like Obama have been outraged, and Stephen Harper has actually talked about the law threatening the NATO mission.
I support this talk tough, and I support tough action as well.
But, where is the same toughness when it comes to the gay community in Iraq? ...
When can we expect a statement from President Obama? When will Stephen Harper mention this? Will the British and the Germans also remain silent? Surely, the tolerant Dutch should be making a fuss, no?
Hmmmmm ... I'm pretty sure I can play this game, too. How about, "Where is the Blogging Tories outrage on the part of exiled Canadian citizen Abousfian Abdelrazik?" How about it, Fred? When you can muster the minimal interest to give a shit about Abdelrazik, then you might have the moral standing to lecture the rest of us.
Does that work for you, Fred?

These poor log-cabin Repulicanadians. Their intellectual and emotional discombobulation must be even more acute, since they have to really work hard and go much further afield to find something to be outraged over (the plight of ordinary Canadians having become dull, for some reason).
Let's forbid Fred to marry...just him. Then his sense of persecution will be much more immediate and understandable.
Mr. GaR is correct about the disparity of reaction from national leaders on the matter, but it's a pity he's only feeling the damp heat of the persecutor's prejudice puffing on his own keister. Still, I do wonder how he feels about Ms. Palin and her blessing from the homophobic witch hunter getting receptive audiences in the US.
Do you notice that the only people he's really angry at are supposed lefties?
I don't think he knows what a lefty is. He (like most so-called 'conservatives') is just angry at them.
Funny that he's concerned about Iraq's gays but not North Americas.
Or Russia's or any number of other places that basically treat homosexuality as a plague that needs to beaten out of the gay people...
