I think you’ll find that if it appears the Democrats might win the next election, you’ll see a sudden, newfound interest in the old constitution, that’s been ignored and abused for the past seven years. Why they might even start wondering about the wisdom of Bush & Cheney having acquired all those executive powers for the office of the president. Heck, they could even start to get keenly interested in the deficit and reckless government spending. Why it wouldn’t surprise me in the least bit if fiscal probity and limited government even came back into fashion, provided the Democrats are in power of course. Otherwise, all bets are off. It’s go back to sleep time then.
