Let the 2008 Blogging Tories hilarity begin.

Brian Lemon emerges briefly from the hermetically-sealed BT echo chamber to complain that the MSM doesn't take the time to appreciate the value of the hermetically-sealed BT echo chamber. For his trouble, BT is paddled soundly by Balbulican and sent home.

Yes, 2008 is going to be a good year, isn't it?

Well, at least Lemon was gracious about it.

2008 will be a good year if some of the leading "conservative" screaming-heads in the mainstream media are finally marginalised.

That rant at CBL is the most self-centered piece of drivel I've seen in a long time.

I'd love for RT to expound on this somewhere (from the comments at Lemons site)--

At the risk of pointing out the obvious, this is a pretty good example of what’s wrong with our so-called political “discourse.”

A story about some websites that are helping to make a difference with there being no real indication that they’re left, right or anything political really, is immediately seized on as an opportunity to gripe about: a) the media being biased in favour of the presumably “left” wing blogs involved (Are they…? Frankly, I haven’t a clue and couldn’t care less.); b) to gripe and moan about Blogging Tories being overlooked (“wha, wha, wha, boo, hoo, hoo… what about all the difference WE’RE making?”; c) to intentionally piss off another “lefty” blogger, thereby provoking a predictably snarky reaction from said individual (apparently this is all part of some life-affirming cycle or mutually rewarding venom-exchange program); and d) to once again assert the notion that “Us” is better than “Them” in the charity department.
...
Ugh, this is why I give up.

especially the c) bit.

I recently got into a spat with a rightie blogger 'cause I asked him to either back up one of his assertions with some sort of proof or modify it. 30+ comments later and nada. All that occurred was childish diatribe.

Where does that get anyone at the end of the day?

This also reminded me of TRIWIA and his tirade against people that wouldn't comment at 'offending blogs'. And we all know what happened there.

apparently this is all part of some life-affirming cycle or mutually rewarding venom-exchange program

Pretty much summed it up for me.

How do we, as a collective whole, do better for the blogging community?

I gots no answers.
