Support the troops! Just not with money.

The Army Times reports that a raise for the troops is deemed "unnecessary".

"Bush budget officials said the administration “strongly opposes” both the 3.5 percent raise for 2008 and the follow-on increases, calling extra pay increases “unnecessary.”
“When combined with the overall military benefit package, the president’s proposal provides a good quality of life for service members and their families,” the policy statement says."

Because a cost of living increase is just not the way to support the troops. Good god people, there are yellow magnetic ribbons for that. So how much do the Blackwater mercenaries make?

It's not like military families are lining up at the food banks or anything. Oh, wait.

There was a guy from a vets ogranization on one of the news shows last night. According to him, Bush was going to veto this $6 a month pay raise for the typical US grunt.

Gotta love the GOP--support the troops and all that rot...But god forbid we should cut $$ on weapons programs that don't work ("Star Wars" the Ospray, etc).

This might tip the denizens of smalldeadanimals against the bush-II regime.

"Might" if it weren't for the fact that they're all disgusting, hypocritical, subhuman asswipes.

Oh come on. You know the best way to support the troops is to buy a $1.99 yellow sticker and put it on the back of your car. That's all the support they need, and if you say otherwise, well, you're not supporting the troops.
