There's regular stupid, and then there's Vic Toews stupid.


Oh, great -- CPC cabinet ministers who don't understand how their own blatant, pandering bribe ... uh, child-care program works. I am so optimistic about the future of our country.

Is it too late to move to New Zealand? Or Mars?

It's worse than him being dumb, it appears that he is completely unaware of critics of his gov't and policies (sounds very familiar, something about living in a bubble comes to mind). In every critical discussion of the money since they announced it, someone has brought up the fact that it gets taxed and won't be worth nearly $100/month. Even worse, this is a criticism that even some CPC boosters will conceed.

So he's not reading the papers, listening to the news, or even getting it passed on to him. Or if he is, he fails understand it. Not a good sign. Also, by adulthood, as a politician, one would think it basic knowledge that money the gov't gives you is automatically taxed (like scholarships, EI benefits, welfare, etc..). Dumb isn't really fair, it's more deaf and blind that seems to be holding him back.
