Donald Trump will never see the inside of a jail cell.

Seriously, the judges currently overseeing his cases are such gutless, spineless, cowardly, pandering pieces of shit that, even if Trump openly called for the murder of their entire families, the best those judges could muster is to threaten to not give Trump's BMW two coats of wax.

The prosecutors in these cases should just throw up their hands in court, tell the judge to give Trump his hot oil massage, and walk out to go spend their time on cases they actually have a chance of winning.

P.S. Here's another deluded left-wing pundit, yammering on about the brilliance of Judge Tanya Chutkan. Fuck this bullshit ... not one of these judges has held Trump to even the tiniest scintilla of accountability, and they're never going to.

It is very entertaining when American lawyer pundits react to the fact that their legal system is utter shit. I'm just thankful I don't live in that shithole country.

I can understand Justice Engoron in the NY civil fraud case being reluctant to jail Trump for contempt - it is a civil case after all.

Justice Chutkan in the DC criminal trial, OTOH, has the option of pulling Trump's bail. Frankly, if it were any other defendant I expect she would have done so by now. But nobody knows how, or even if, the Secret Service is supposed to protect Trump in jail.

If she pulls Trump's bail, she risks a flurry of appeals, including from the justice department itself, that risk pushing the trial date beyond next fall's election. This plays straight into Trump's hands, as he's been arguing for delay in all his cases, hoping that as president he can make all but the GA and NY cases go away. My sense is that Chutkan wants this matter to go to trial in March, as scheduled. Besides, nobody wants a Mein Kampf, the Sequel.

I've been watching a lot of that fairly closely. The judges are starting to escalate as I would expect.

What they don't want to do is get drawn into the sideshow he's trying to create - that could potentially not only derail the trial on the core charges, but actually delay it well past next November as the various contempt proceedings have to be processed.

Yes, I get that it's frustrating as fuck to see the numpty running off at the mouth, but the more important thing is to get the actual trials underway so that the testimony can be heard.

His die-hard followers are never going to believe the charges and evidence, but those aren't the people to pay attention to electorally. It's the people who are sitting on the fence in spite of his reign of error from 2016 through 2020.

I think their caution reflects their recognition that Trump is largely oblivious to the distinction between his political campaign and his trials. From his perspective, each new sanction is a victory and further evidence of his oppression and the corruption of the legal system. It's all he's got.
The judges, I think, realize exactly what he's doing, and are playing all this calmly, strictly by the book, in order to protect the trial and process and minimize any chance of appeal or mistrial.

All: I used to believe this nonsense about, "Oh, they're just being cautious, and they're escalating, etc, etc." The guy has publicly called for the *DEATH* of one of his political critics, and if that's not sufficient to lock him up, then nothing is.

Will it actually take someone getting killed for these gutless judges to act? Apparently.
