Because they're idiots, that's why.

First, let's appreciate the precise and technical nuance (emphasis added):

The Liberals and New Democrats signed an agreement on Monday to form an unprecedented coalition government, with a written pledge of support from the Bloc Québécois, if they are successful in ousting the minority Conservative government in a coming confidence vote...

The Bloc would not officially be a part of the coalition, but the new government's survival would depend on its support.

Then let's appreciate why sane people dismiss the Blogging Tories as ignorant airheads and insufferable retards.

I trust we've cleared this up for you.

'The Invisible Hand'?

Ya know, for people who claim to be such snarky individualists many on the right seem to be severely lacking in the imagination required to be an individualist. They always want to be part of something bigger than themselves.

He also used the word 'statism' which is one of those meaningless buzz words that makes me want to hurl.

Sad.

..any deal with the Bloq.. a point on which the Cons can take no high ground (see Stockwell Day).. is a bad deal for Canada.

I have no difficulty pushing Harper under the bus, he'll get what he has coming to him, and I may well vote Ignatieff should he succeed, but the fiction of a Lib/NDP coalition is just that..

It's a tri-partite coalition, by definition, otherwise, there is no mandate to govern going to the G.G..

No, roblaw, it is *not* a tri-partite coalition -- the BQ is most emphatically and deliberately not part of that coalition.

Do you seriously think that was done by accident? Don't be silly. That was a calculated decision given the possible optics. Please stop encouraging that myth. It's irresponsible and childish.

Woah, you mean an anonymous cbc.ca writer says it's not so? Well, that certainly settles it!

Oh, and your own link actually contradicts you in multiple places:

- NDP Leader Jack Layton, left, shakes hands with Liberal Leader Stéphane Dion, centre, and Bloc Québécois Leader Gilles Duceppe on Monday after signing a coalition agreement on Parliament Hill.

- Duceppe, Layton and Dion signed this document securing a coalition deal among their three parties
