Suzie All-Caps commenter Ken wants you all to know how close he is to getting it on with a tall bell tower and a high-powered rifle:
Most of our moral laws are based on bible teaching. If I didn't believe in God I would have no problem taking from others everything I could, including their lives so that I could enjoy this temporary life of about 70 summers. You don't need a conscience if life ends at death.
One hopes fervently that Ken never has a crisis of faith, and that Mrs. Ken has the local womens' shelter on speed dial, if you catch my drift.

Well that was a little disturbing.
They walk amongst us...
Wow! Doesn't he sound stable?
I wonder how he justifies the fact that lots of people who don't believe in gods manage to coexist peacefully, even happily, with their neighbors. No rapes, murder, thefts...all living quite nicely without interference from some daddy figure.

*snerk* Life doesn't end at death? He's trying to put the funeral business out of business?
And a conscience is only a stopper in a bottle of guilt. I don't know too many people who need one at all. And it's not their belief in some diety that keeps them from going on a rampage. Matter of fact, if memory serves (loosely), aren't most mass murderers religious fanatics of some sort?

Actually, if you believed human existence ended at death it could be argued that you would be more careful since you're aware of the finite nature of life. Being an atheist doesn't mean you lose your sympathy or compassion for others. As religious as this Ken guy is, it appears as those these two elements -- compassion and sympathy -- are missing from him.
People often blame the voices in their heads for telling them to go on murderous rampages.
and yet, there are still a billion chinese walking around....
