Just when you thought they couldn't get any dumber ...

Apparently, over in Blogging Tory land, all the real problems of the world have been solved:

Is Forced Sharing Communism?

Yesterday at the dinner table, my wife was talking to Cookie about pencils. Cookie, my 10 year old daughter, commented that they don’t have their own pencils at school.

This made me perk my ears up a bit to listen closer.

She then proceeded to explain that in her class they have a box where they all put their pencils at the beginning of the year and when you need a pencil, you can just go up and get one from the box.

I distinctly remember pencils being on the school supply list which we, as parents, were asked to supply our children with at the beginning of the year. Now I am all for the school offering up a solution which has every student put ONE pencil into a community box which they can “borrow” from for a day when they forget their own. But for the whole class to lump ALL of their pencils into one community pile which the children draw from is not sharing. It’s communism.

Am I being paranoid? ...

No, you're being a total retard, although I can see how the concept of "sharing" would set a Blogging Tory's teeth on edge. And that "carpool" thing you might have heard about? Fucking socialism if I ever saw it.

And the idea of numerous, ideologically-related individuals getting together and collectively sharing a single website? Don't even get me started.

P.S. "Hey, this is my fucking hymnal. Get your own, asshole."

"Democracy and socialism have nothing in common but one word, equality. But notice the difference: while democracy seeks equality in liberty, socialism seeks equality in restraint and servitude."
Alexis de Tocqueville

And so it begins .... with pencils, yes pencils.

Jesus Christ, get a grip.

Teaching human beings to share isn't the end of the world.

It's amazing that I even had to type that for someone.

And de Tocqueville would shit his pants if he ever had to contend with real democracy. As would most liberal/capitalists.

The replies on that page are disturbingly hilarious.

Actually, the sad part is that public schools are so underfunded that students have to provide their own pencils. At least when my kids went to private school they were upfront about it. Give us a check for $300 and all supplies (including pencils, paper, books, etc.) were provided.

What's really depressing is that private school tuition was $3,000 per kid and they got a first class primary education. Now my state spends $7,000+ per kid per year and they are 35th in the US and they don't learn shit! My 5th grader uses words the teacher has to look up in the dictionary! (larder, fortnight, Newfoundland and Labrador).

True, thwap, because the US and Canada are now socialist.

The right-wing definition of "socialist": Anything to the left of an absolute theocracy.

Wayne,

The US and Canada are definitely not socialist.

But you know what, I'm going to take CC's advice and not waste much more time on you.

On your blog, you had that little thingamabobby about the photo-shopping of photos during Israel's attack on Lebanon.

I wondered where your priorities were, based on what you wanted to get offended by. I asked you if you thought that maybe the creation of hundreds of thousands of homeless, the killing of 1,000 people, the illegality of the invasion, the illegality of the occupation, etc., etc., might somehow register with you.

You began to blather irrelevantly about Israel's stunning victory over Hezbollah's attempt to destroy her.

As if Israel's existence could be even remotely threatened by a militia of 6,000 men. When the IDF's active forces number 100,000.

Not only irrelevant, completely delusional. What's the point of debating with someone like you?

If you think it's evil for children to share pencils, and if you think a real democracy wouldn't be much more socialist than what we have now, ... there's no force on earth that will be able to knock you from your prejudices at this point in your life.

I just pray you do as little damage as possible.

I was not as worried about Hez militia as Syria and Iran.

The left has politics of abstract reason compared to the rights politics of concrete reason.

It is like Hegel's statement "The real is the rational and the rational is the real"

"I just pray you do as little damage as possible."

I am running for city council, if I get elected we will see what I can do, and where I will go from there.

Clearly you haven't been listening to your peers then.

1. Changing the subject from "Israel really did kill over a thousand people and devastate another country, photoshopping or no photoshopping" to "Israel beat Hezbollah" is still dishonest.

2. Your exact words were

"Hez was defeated. Hez genuinely thinks they have won, so they will keep up their attacks.

The Photo's helped Hez look like they were innocent.

Israel only used 6% of its air power.
"

You said nothing about Syria and Iran. And it's still entirely irrelevant.

3. I have no idea what you're trying to say with your Hegel and your abstract, concrete stuff.

And I don't much care because you change the subject when you're losing in a debate and then you're dishonest about what has been said.

Let it go, thwap. I genuinely doubt that Wayne is trying to be weaselly and evasive. If history is any indication, he really doesn't know any better.

In any event, I've had enough of him here. He has his own blog, he can use it.
