Via Devin Johnston, we find the Stephen Harper Party of Canada taking transparency, accountability and democracy and handing it over to Bill O'Reilly and a falafel:
OTTAWA — The House of Commons has voted in favour of holding a judicial inquiry into the treatment of Afghan detainees, but the majority motion will likely be ignored by the governing Conservatives.
Which leads me to ask the Manning Centre for Building (ha ha!) Democracy's Stephen Taylor how exactly the cause of Canadian democracy is furthered by a governing party that is willing to ignore the will of Parliament in order to refuse to learn what happened while smearing a long-time public servant and leaking classified documents for blatantly political purposes.
Seriously, Mr. Taylor, howzabout you put down the Brie and Chardonnay just long enough to bang out a defense for this singularly undemocratic demonstration of petulance, whitewash and coverup. I'm sure the rest of us are dying to hear what you've been learning over there at the Preston Manning Institure of Wingnut Welfare and Conservative Entitlements (Keg-Size Porterhouse edition).

If he's serious about democracy, Mr. Taylor's only option is to leave the Conservative Party in protest right now.

That'll be the day. You're just too beastly to merit a response.
I have to say, Tasha "Harridan" Kheriddin has shown more cojones in showing up on the CBC every once in a while to engage her adversaries. But in the end, they're all just a waste of time.

Sure, why not... It's not like she is not already getting paid on the public purse...
All the "free market" specialist have a way of sucking the public tit in ways more greeting than for legitimate purposes...
Well, that's true. Parasite of some kind, every last one of them.
